The New York Diaries #3

My third day in NYC coincided with International Women’s Day 2016 – and I thought that going to the UN Headquarters would be a cool way to celebrate it, especially as this very cool moment was happening during my tour of the building! I then headed to Madison Square Park for lunch at the outdoor Shake Shack – it was a lovely sunny day and eating outside with a view of the Flatiron building on one side, and the Empire State Building on the other was incredible! At the end of the day I head up to Top of the Rock…

The New York Diaries #2

My second day in New York was dedicated to the museums within the ‘Museum Mile’ on Fifth Avenue. But before I started exploring, I headed to UrbanSpace Vanderbilt, a very cool food market just behind Grand Central Station, to try out the incredible (and HUGE) donuts from Dough. If you’re planning a trip there,…

The story of the book revolves around World War II, but while it tells us the story of the Resistance in France, and the part played by the British in it, it also takes us through the emotional journey of those who had an active role in the war. ‘Les Derniers Jours de Nos…

NYC in Film/TV/Books

Before I left for New York, I revisited some of my favourite films, TV shows and books set in The Big Apple. Antes de partir para Nova Iorque, voltei a ver os meus filmes, programas de televisão e livros preferidos passados na Big Apple. Film Home Alone 2 Lost in New York This was the film that made me dream of going to New York one day. I was very young when I first saw it, but it remains one of my favourites, that I can watch anytime – especially when I need a pick me up.  From Kevin’s tour…
