April Plans

With a new month come new plans – April is looking pretty exciting! Com um novo mês vêm novos planos – Abril vai ser um mês em cheio! Health // Saúde  After a month of March dominated by very unhealthy eating (with a trip to the US and a lot of Easter chocolate), I’m determined to go back to healthier eating habits. That will mean less chocolate and sugary things (although I’d never be able to cut them out entirely), more foods that are high in fibre, and more veggies and fruit. The Big Short

source: facebook.com/thebigshortmovie.uk The Big Short was the film I was most excited to see at the beginning of this year’s awards season. The cast was incredible – Ryan Gosling, Steve Carell, Brad Pitt all together? I’m in. And the story seemed like one that was absolutely worth telling. Marcus tells us of his feelings towards the more successful, seemingly luckier side…

‘Les Derniers Jours de Nos Pères’ by Joël Dicker is the most recent book I have finished reading, and the second in a row by the same author (the first was ‘La Vérité sur l’Affaire Harry Quebert’, in English ‘The Truth about the Harry Quebert Affair’). The story of the book revolves around World War II, but while it tells us the story of the Resistance in France, and the part played by the British in it, it also takes us through the emotional journey of those who had an active role in the war. ‘Les Derniers Jours de Nos…

NYC in Film/TV/Books

Before I left for New York, I revisited some of my favourite films, TV shows and books set in The Big Apple. Antes de partir para Nova Iorque, voltei a ver os meus filmes, programas de televisão e livros preferidos passados na Big Apple. Film Home Alone 2 Lost in New York This was the film that made me dream of going to New York one day. I was very young when I first saw it, but it remains one of my favourites, that I can watch anytime – especially when I need a pick me up.  From Kevin’s tour…
