As I was preparing my return to the UK, I started noticing and saving posts from fellow creators on Instagram that focused on restaurant deliveries, so I could refer to them for special occasions when I was back.
The first special occasion actually came on my second weekend of quarantine – Easter! Even before leaving I decided to order a special food delivery to brighten up my Easter weekend, and it had to be from the beautiful Bar Douro.
The order is placed through Restokit – you choose your delivery date (and can pay slightly more for a delivery before 12) and then are shown the options for the restaurant you want. It couldn’t be easier, and really feels like a special, delicious plan!
Delivery
The kit from the restaurant arrived safely packaged and with cooling pads to keep everything safe and fresh.
All the ingredients for each dish come clearly labelled, and the kit includes a little booklet with instructions for each dish.
Cooking
The instructions were super easy to follow, with easy steps marked clearly – couldn’t be simpler!
I opted to split the two dishes between two days because it was just for me and it worked perfectly. Don’t think my hob or oven could’ve done all of it for the same meal!
The Food
Everything was absolutely delicious.
The croquetes (the starter) were so tasty – and the combination with lemon mayo was so good!
The bacalhau à brás was perfect – their instructions left it just dry enough and beyond tasty. I loved it!
And the pièce de résistance, the lamb shank with punched potatoes was incredible! The lamb was so tasty and tender, it was amazing.
As for the desserts, I got toucinho do céu and a pastel de nata, both with instructions to heat in the oven and both so so yummy.

I loved everything about my Restokit order and am really hoping to get another one for my birthday in a few weeks – it’s a real treat and a really welcome distraction!

Quando estava a preparar o regresso ao UK, comecei a reparar e a guardar posts de outros criadores de conteúdos no Instagram focados em entregas de restaurantes, para depois saber o que encomendar numa qualquer ocasião especial quando voltasse.
A primeira ocasião especial chegou logo no meu segundo fim-de-semana de quarentena – a Páscoa! Mesmo antes de vir, decidi encomendar uma entrega especial para animar o fim-de-semana de Páscoa, e tinha de ser do lindíssimo Bar Douro.
A encomenda é feita através do Restokit – escolhe-se a data de entrega (e pode-se pagar mais por uma entrega antes do meio-dia) e depois mostram-nos as opções do restaurante escolhido. Não podia ser mais fácil, e logo de início é mesmo algo especial e delicioso!
Entrega
O kit do restaurante chegou muito bem embalado e com pacotes de gelo para manter tudo fresco e seguro.
Todos os ingredientes vinham bem identificados e o kit inclui um livrete com instruções para cada prato.
Cozinhar
A Comida
Tudo o que encomendei era absolutamente delicioso.
Os croquetes de alheira (a entrada) eram tão saborosos – e a combinação com maionese de limão, uma delícia!
O bacalhau à brás estava perfeito – as instruções deixaram-no ainda um bocadinho húmido e super saboroso. Adorei!
E a pièce de résistance, o cordeiro com batatas à murro, estava incrível! A carne era super tenra e saborosa, uma maravilha.
Quanto às sobremesas, o kit trazia um toucinho do céu e eu encomendei também um pastel de nata, ambos com instruções para aquecer no forno e ambos tão bons.

Adorei tudo na minha encomenda do Restokit e estou já a pensar mandar vir outra para os meus anos daqui a umas semanas – é um óptimo mimo e uma distracção bem precisa!
