I want to share a few favourites from the past few days I’ve been at home in quarantine – things I’ve watched on TV and had (safely, contact-free) delivered to the flat to make it feel more cosy and homely. Hope you like it.
Chromecast with Google TV
My smart tv is a little outdated and I needed something to be able to watch all my series and movies easily – so after investigating, I opted for the Google Chromecast with Google TV. It comes in an absurdly cute pink colour and allows me to watch everything from BBC iPlayer to Disney+ super easily. Perfect for all those new Marvel releases!
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier
Speaking of Marvel releases, I have been loving TFATWS! I love Bucky Barnes since The First Avenger, and Sam Wilson since Winter Soldier – and was really curious to see where Marvel would take their story in a post-Blip, post-Steve Rogers world. I love the chemistry between Bucky and Sam, and have been really impressed with how the series has tackled grief and mental health, and especially racial issues. The writing is so powerful & it’s so beautifully acted – making the series powerful AND entertaining, which, in today’s world, is really important.
Cherry
The latest movie by The Russo Brothers is available to stream on Apple TV+ and it’s pretty incredible. Tom Holland is phenomenal as Cherry, the main character who after returning from the war and suffering from PTSD, struggles with addiction and eventually begins robbing banks to be able to afford the drugs. It’s a look at the pain of the generation that fought in Iraq and Afghanistan in the years following 9/11 – those who enlisted to fight for their country and then did not get adequate support (physical or mental health wise) after their return. It’s heartbreaking and devastating and above all, incredible storytelling as only the Russos know how to do.
Flowers
I’ve loved getting flowers delivered or picking some up from my favourite florists – it brings me so much joy to have pops of scented colour around the house. They brighten my space, and my mood!
Restokit
I’ll put a post up soon about my Easter delivery from Bar Douro and Restokit, but it was definitely a highlight of the past month! A restaurant quality meal that doubles as a distraction – just the right thing for someone who definitely needed cheering up!

Hoje quero partilhar algumas coisas de que tenho gostado muito nos últimos dias, incluindo o meu tempo de quarentena – coisas que vi na TV e que encomendei para entrega (em segurança) para me sentir mais em casa. Espero que gostem.
Google Chromecast
A minha smart tv está um bocadinho datada e precisava de uma coisa que me deixasse ver as minhas séries e filmes com facilidade – depois de pesquisar decidi comprar o Google Chromecast com Google TV. Vem numa versão cor-de-rosa absurdamente amorosa e permite-me ver tudo desde o Netflix ao Disney+ com imensa facilidade. Óptimo para os novos lançamentos da Marvel!

Falando em lançamentos da Marvel, tenho estado a adorar o TFATWS! Adoro o Bucky Barnes desde o The First Avenger, e o Sam Wilson desde o Winter Soldier – e por isso estava super curiosa por saber onde a Marvel ia levar a história deles num mundo pós-blip, pós-Steve Rogers. Adoro a química entre o Bucky e o Sam e tenho adorado a forma como a série aborda o pesar, a saúde mental e especialmente as questões raciais. A escrita é muito forte e está tão bem representado – tornado a série poderosa E divertida o que, nos dias que correm, é super importante.
Cherry
O mais recente filme dos Russo Brothers está disponível na Apple TV+ e é incrível. O Tom Holland está incrível no papel de Cherry, o personagem principal que, depois de votar da guerra a sofrer de PTSD, tem problemas com drogas e eventualmente começa a roubar bancos para as poder comprar. É um olhar sobre a dor da geração que lutou no Iraque e no Afeganistão nos anos depois do 11 de Setembro – aqueles que encalistaram para lutar pelo seu país e depois não receberam apoio adequado (físico ou para a saúde mental) quando voltaram. É devastador, mas acima de tudo, é uma história muito bem contada como só os Russo sabem fazer.
Flores
Tenho adorado receber entregas de flores ou mesmo comprar ramos de flores nas minhas floristas preferidas – traz-me tanta alegria ter estes bocadinhos de cor (que ainda por cima cheiram bem!) cá por casa. Dão cor e vida ao espaço e melhoram muito a minha disposição!
Restokit
Em breve vou publicar um post sobre a refeição que mandei vir para a Páscoa do Bar Douro e Restokit, mas foi mesmo um dos melhores momentos do último mês! Uma refeição de restaurante que ao mesmo tempo é uma distracção – a melhor ideia para quem precisa de ser animado!
