Recently I’ve used my weekends to go back to my favourite museums in London & it’s done me a world of good!

Booking
While the biggest museums in London are for the most part still free to enter, right now you have to book a time slot for your visit, so they can control the number of people inside. It requires a little bit more planning, but it’s worth it for everyone’s safety!
Apesar de os maiores museus em Londres continuarem a ser grátis na sua maioria, nesta altura é preciso marcar uma hora para a visita, para que possa haver um controlo das pessoas que estão no interior. É preciso planear com mais antecedência, mas vale a pena para a segurança de todos!
Masks
As is basically the norm in inside spaces right now, you must wear a mask at all times while inside these spaces.
Como já é praticamente a norma no que toca a espaços fechados, é preciso usar sempre máscara no interior dos museus.
Safety
I’ve been to three of my favourite museums since coming back to London in September and in all of them the measures taken – social distancing, hand sanitiser, masks – made me feel very safe in visiting.
Desde que voltei a Londres em Setembro já fui a três dos meus museus preferidos e em todos achei que as medidas de segurança – distanciamento, álcool-gel, máscaras – eram positivas e inspiravam confiança.
Less Crowded
One thing I also noticed is that because of the time slot booking and the social distancing, there are less people. It is much easier to admire the art works without “fighting” other people to be able to see!
Algo que também me chamou a atenção foi o facto de, por causa das marcações e do distanciamento social, estarem menos pessoas nos museus. É muito mais fácil admirar as obras de arte sem ter de “lutar” com outras pessoas para conseguir ver!
Where to go
National Gallery
For the most impressive art collection, I highly recommend The National Gallery. Works from the Renaissance to the Impressionist period (and beyond) are enough to feed any art deprived eyes.
Para ver a colecção mais impressionante, recomendo vivamente a National Gallery. Obras do Renascimento ao Impressionismo (e não só!) chegam para matar a sede de arte.
Royal Academy of Arts
For excellent temporary exhibitions, head to the Royal Academy of Arts. I decided to visit the Gaugin & The Impressionists exhibition and thought it was incredibly interesting. Must go back for the big Summer exhibit soon.
Para ver exposições temporárias excelentes, vão à Royal Academy of Arts. Decidi ir visitar a exposição Gaugin & The Impressionists e achei super interessante. Tenho de voltar em breve para ver a exposição de Verão.
Wallace Collection
For the most amazing space with beautiful furniture pieces & paintings by some great masters, pop over to The Wallace Collection. It’s a smaller museum that is usually much less crowded than the previous two, but it’s well worth visiting! There are some beautiful works there, along with some impressive furniture pieces in the dreamiest of rooms.
Para ver o espaço mais incrível com peças de mobiliário e quadros de grandes mestres, dêem um salto à Wallace Collection. É um museu mais pequeno que tem menos visitantes que os anteriores, mas merece ser visitado! Tem obras lindas, bem como peças de mobiliário impressionantes nos quartos mais bonitos que já vi num museu.
