One of my favourite traditions around this time of year, is to spend time at home watching Christmas films. There’s something so cosy and comforting about them – no matter how silly and cheesy they are!
Uma das minhas tradições preferidas nesta altura do ano é passar tempo em casa a ver filmes de Natal. Há qualquer coisa de tão reconfortante nestes filmes – mesmo que sejam parvos e pirosos!
I must not be the only one to love this kind of film, as over the past couple of years there’s been a wide selection of new ones to choose from!

Christmas in the Wild
Kristin Davis finds herself in an Elephant Sanctuary in Africa, rediscovering herself and her passions after a divorce. It’s not a traditional Christmas setting or story, so it’s good to ease yourself into the spirit. The story is lovely and heartwarming – you can’t help but smile as you watch it!
Kristin Davis dá por ela num Santuário de Elefantes em África, a redescobrir a sua identidade e as suas paixões depois de um divórcio. Não é um filme de Natal tradicional, por isso é bom para entrar no espírito. A história é encantadora e fofinha – não há como não sorrir enquanto se vê!
Let it Snow
Based on a book of short stories set at Christmas, written by John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle, this Netflix film is modern, fun, sweet and comforting. The young cast is great and the story, even with some differences vs the book, is magical.
Baseado no livro de short stories passado no Natal e escrito por John Green, Maureen Johnson e Lauren Myracle, este filme do Netflix é moderno, divertido, doce e reconfortante. O elenco jovem é óptimo e a história, ainda que com várias mudanças em relação ao livro, é verdadeiramente mágica.
Klaus
A beautiful traditionally-animated movie (ie 2D, hand-drawn) like those of my childhood. This original take of the myth of Santa Claus is just lovely. It has such beautiful scenes and it is so heartwarming! Plus it’s worth supporting just for the fact that the animation is fantastic.
Um filme lindíssimo de animação tradicional (portanto em 2D, desenhado à mão), como os da minha infância. Esta versão super original do mito do Pai Natal é uma delícia. Tem cenas lindas e é encantador! Para além de que vale a pena ver pela animação fantástica.
Christmas Inheritance
This one isn’t new but it’s one of my favourite light watches for the season and I couldn’t leave it out. It touches on everything from going back to your roots, the importance of kindness, and the true meaning of Christmas, with just a sprinkle of Romance – it’s so lovely!
Este não é bem novo, mas é um dos meus preferidos nesta época e não o podia deixar de fora. É levezinho e toca em tudo desde voltar às origens, a importância da bondade e o verdadeiro significado do Natal, com uma pitada de romance – é tão fofo!
