Memories of Jewellery

I have always been a fan of accessories, ever since I was a little girl playing with my grandma’s and my mum’s bracelets or earrings.

Sempre gostei de acessórios, desde que era miúda e brincava com as pulseiras ou os brincos da minha mãe e da minha avó.

These days, whenever I travel, I love treating myself to a small piece of jewellery from the city or country I’m visiting – it’s something that I will cherish for a long time, and a way to always remember my trips!

Hoje em dia, sempre que viajo, gosto de me oferecer uma peça pequenina de joalharia da cidade ou país onde vou – é uma coisa que vou apreciar por muito tempo, e uma óptima forma de me lembrar das viagens que fiz!

I don’t wear a lot of jewellery on a daily basis, really – could never really get used to the layered necklaces trend because it drives me nuts when they get tangled!

No dia-a-dia não uso muitos acessórios, na verdade – nunca me habituei à tendência dos vários colares porque me dá cabo do juízo quando se enrolam uns nos outros!

But I have been wearing a few pieces regularly that I wanted to show you.

Mas tenho usado algumas peças mais regularmente que vos queria mostrar.

The first is a beautifully simple lapis lazuli heart on a silver chain from Portuguese brand HLC, which my parents gave me for my birthday this year. It’s a lovely pop of colour and a great reminder of a fantastic birthday weekend at home with my favourite people!

A primeira é um colar super simples com um coração em lapis lazuli numa corrente de prata, da marca Portuguesa HLC, que os meus pais me deram este ano pelo meu aniversário. É um toque de cor muito giro e um óptimo lembrete do que foi um fim-de-semana de anos excelente em casa com as minhas pessoas favoritas!

Then I have a set of necklace, bracelet and earrings from Aristocrazy. They’re from the My Cleo collection with clear topaz and are just simple and chic. I bought them in Barcelona as a souvenir from the most wonderful trip with my parents. I only wear one or two pieces from the set at a time, though. to avoid the overkill!

Depois tenho um conjunto de colar, pulseira e brincos da Aristocrazy. Fazem parte da colecção My Cleo com topázio branco e são simples e elegantes. Comprei o conjunto em Barcelona como recordação da melhor viagem com os meus pais. Só uso uma ou duas das peças ao mesmo tempo, para evitar o exagero!

I always wear my Dana Levy bracelet that spells ‘Yas Queen’ which I got for myself and my best friend last year. It always reminds me that I can do anything and it puts a big smile on my face whenever I remember the Jumaji scene that inspired it.

Uso sempre a minha pulseira da Dana Levy que diz ‘Yas Queen’ e que comprei no ano passado para mim e para a minha melhor amiga. Lembra-me sempre que consigo fazer tudo e deixa-me sempre com um sorriso na cara quando me lembro da cena do Jumanji que a inspirou.

Finally my trusted Cartier Trinity Ring was a present from my parents as I moved back to London in 2015. For me, it represents the bond the three of us have. It also stands as reminder that I got through times of fear and anxiety and came out stronger and happier – so I can do it again when needed.

Finalmente, o meu anel Trinity da Cartier foi uma prenda dos meus pais quando me voltei a mudar para Londres em 2015. Para mim, representa a ligação que temos entre os 3. Também é uma forma de me lembrar que ultrapassei tempos de ansiedade e medo e tornei-me mais forte e feliz – por isso posso voltar a fazê-lo quando for preciso.

Jewellery isn’t just something pretty for me (although it is that), it’s all the memories and moments associated. I love these pieces for that reason exactly.

Para mim as jóias não são só uma coisa bonita (embora sejam, claro), são todas as memórias e momentos que lhes estão associados. Adoro estas peças justamente por essa razão.
