For as long as I can remember, I’ve been a big fan of accessories – whether it was my mum’s hippie earrings, my grandma’s shoes and bags, or the Swatch watch my uncle gave me that played music when you pressed the dial, I loved them all!
Desde sempre que adoro acessórios – fossem os brincos hippie da minha mãe, os sapatos e malas da minha avó ou o relógio da Swatch que me deu o meu tio que tocava uma musiquinha quando se carregava no botão – adorava-os todos!
As I grew up, nothing changed – to this day, handbags, jewellery and watches (and sometimes shoes, too) are some of my favourite things. Today I wanted to talk a bit about my current favourite accessories…while sharing the photos from the latest shoot with Sofia Garrido!
Ao crescer, nada mudou – até hoje adoro malas, jóias e relógios (e de vez em quando sapatos, também). Hoje queria partilhar um bocadinho sobre os meus acessórios preferidos do momento…e ao mesmo tempo mostrar-vos as mais recentes fotos que fiz com a Sofia Garrido!
Jewellery
Recently I’ve been keeping my jewellery minimal and only wearing my Daisy earrings from Georg Jensen. They’re just gorgeous, so simple but striking!
Nos últimos tempos tenho optado por usar pouca joalharia e tenho usado só os brincos da linha Daisy da Georg Jensen. São lindos, super simples mas saltam à vista!
In addition to the earrings I always wear the Cartier Trinity ring my parents gave me years ago – it holds great meaning for me and it’s my most treasured piece.
Para além dos brincos, uso sempre o meu anel Trinity da Cartier que os meus pais me ofereceram há anos – tem um significado muito especial para mim e é a minha peça mais estimada.
Watches
Since I was a kid I always loved watches. I remember my uncle saying that you could buy them by the kilo in South Africa and thinking that was the most incredible thing! Right now I’m a bit more selective, I like having one that will go with everything. A few months ago my friend Matilde did some work with Daniel Wellington and when I saw her watch I basically turned into a cartoon character with hearts jumping out of their eyes! I waited a few months but when I got a chance, I invested in the same model – so happy I did! It’s the perfect size, it’s classic, and it fits my wrist perfectly so it doesn’t cover up the tattoo. Love it!
Desde miúda que adoro relógios. Lembro-me de um tio meu me dizer que se vendem ao kilo na África do Sul e pensar que isso era a melhor ideia de sempre! Agora sou mais selectiva, gosto de ter um relógio que dê com tudo. Aqui há uns meses a minha amiga Matilde colaborou com a Daniel Wellington e quando eu vi o relógio dela fiquei como um daqueles desenhos animados com corações a saltar dos olhos! Esperei uns meses e quando pude, investi no mesmo modelo – e ainda bem que o fiz! Tem o tamanho perfeito, é clássico, e assenta perfeitamente no pulso sem tapar a tatuagem. Adoro!
Handbags
This has been my biggest addiction for a good few years, that I’m currently trying to control by investing in quality, classic, elegant pieces that will be practical and won’t be tiring after a few months. I have my Gucci bag that I absolutely adore, but needed a black one that wouldn’t be stained blue by new jeans (seriously, it’s been a cause of panic with lighter bags). So I chose in the beautiful APC Paris half moon bag in textured leather. It’s a beauty. It fits everything I need for every day life, it’s resistant, and it’s so stylish!
As malas são o meu maior vicio há uns anos, vicio esse que estou a tentar controlar ao investir em peças de qualidade, clássicas e elegantes que sejam práticas e não se tornem cansativas ao fim de uns meses. Tenho a Gucci que adoro, mas precisava de uma preta que não ficasse manchada por calças de ganga novas (a sério, o pânico que isto causa com malas claras). Por isso escolhi o modelo meia lua da APC Paris em pele texturizada. É linda! Cabe lá tudo o que preciso para o dia-a-dia, é resistente e tem tanto estilo!
Coats
I bought a couple of new coats at the beginning of this winter and they have been life savers. The first, which has been getting loads of wear thanks to the wet London winter, is a beige parka that can be worn on both sides and basically feels like wearing a duvet!
No início deste Inverno comprei dois casacos que têm sido super úteis. O primeiro, que tem sido usado imensas vezes dado o tempo chuvoso de Londres, é uma parka beige que pode ser usada dos dois lados e é aconchegante como se estivemos a usar um edredon.
The second is my gorgeous, pink Sezane oversized coat. I accidentally got it a size bigger than I wanted (Sezane sizing can be tricky) but it’s actually ok – good if I want to wear a thicker jumper underneath. Plus it feels like I’m wrapping a very stylish blanket around me and that’s never a bad thing!
O segundo é o meu casaco oversized da Sézane, cor-de-rosa e lindo. Comprei um tamanho maior do que queria (os tamanhos da Sézane podem enganar) mas não faz mal – é bom para usar com uma camisola mais grossa por baixo. Para além do mais, parece que me estou a embrulhar numa manta cheia de estilo e isso não pode ser mau!
