What I’m grateful for

Merry Christmas everybody! Hope you’re having a wonderful day filled with family, friends and joy.

Feliz Natal a todos! Espero que estejam a ter um dia óptimo, com a família e os amigos e cheio de alegria.

As a way to celebrate the Holiday, I wanted to share with you what I am grateful for as this year comes to a close.

Como forma de celebrar este dia, quis partilhar convosco algumas coisas pelas quais me sinto grata ao chegar ao final deste ano.

2018 has been challenging both on professional and personal levels – I’ve learned and grown a lot, and that in itself is something to be grateful for!

2018 foi um ano desafiante tanto a nível profissional como pessoal – aprendi muito e cresci também, e isso só por si é razão para me sentir agradecida!

Family

I am lucky to be surrounded by a strong family system that made me who I am, and still supports me always. My parents are the best in the world, and have always been on my side and put up with me, which I know is really lucky! The whole family is a bit nuts, but we’re always there. From my cousins in the UK, to my parents, aunts and uncles in Portugal, I know I can count on them for company, advice or support whenever it’s needed.

Tenho sorte de ter uma rede familiar forte que me tornou na pessoa que sou hoje, e que sempre me apoiou. Os meus pais são os melhores do mundo e sempre me atiraram e estiveram do meu lado, o que eu sei que é uma sorte! A família no total é um bocadinho maluca, mas estamos sempre lá uns para os outros. Dos primos no Reino Unido, aos pais, tios e tias em Portugal, sei que posso contar com eles (e eles comigo) para fazerem companhia, conselhos ou apoio quando é preciso.

Friends

I was never one for a great group of friends, always more of a quality over quantity gal. And this year this has been more important and evident than ever. There have been friendships maintained, and friendships gained. They have made my day-to-day more bearable, more fun, and most importantly, less lonely.

Nunca fui pessoa de ter um grande grupo de amigos, sempre fui mais da máxima “poucos mas bons”. E este ano isto tem sido mais importante e evidente que nunca. Amizades mantidas e amizades começadas. Tornaram o meu dia-a-dia mais suportável, mais divertido e acima de tudo, menos solitário.

Travel

One of my biggest passions is to travel, to discover different cultures, and explore new places. This year I’ve been lucky to explore more of my favourite cities, and get to know new ones. Between monuments and museums, alone or with company, my travels always leave me grateful to be able to explore this great world we live in. It’s hard not to appreciate the Earth itself, as well as all the History and Culture within it, when you get to explore it!

Adoro viajar, descobrir novas culturas e explorar novos sítios. Este ano tive a sorte de explorar mais das minhas cidades preferidas, e conhecer novas. Entre monumentos e museus, sozinha ou com companhia, as minhas viagens deixam-me sempre grata por poder explorar este grande Mundo onde vivemos. É difícil de não apreciar a Terra em si, bem como a sua História e Cultura, quando a podemos explorar!

This might be the most controversial one, but despite the algorithm and all the issues the app has had this year, I still love it. I love it because it allows me to explore my creative side, but mostly because it has allowed me to meet great people, making friendships that have translated to real life as well. There are some as well that I hope will follow that same path soon!

Este talvez seja o ponto mais controverso, mas apesar do algoritmo e todos os problemas que a app teve este ano, ainda adoro o Instagram. Adoro porque me permite explorar o meu lado criativo, mas especialmente porque me permitiu conhecer pessoas espectaculares e fazer amizades que passaram para a vida real também. E outras que espero que sigam esse caminho em breve!
