We’re coming to the end of 2018. It’s not one I’m particularly sad to leave behind – but in between all the things I could’ve done without, there were some really good things. Those are the ones I’m focusing on as the year draws to a close…
Estamos a chegar ao fim de 2018. Não fico particularmente triste de ver este ano acabar – mas entre as coisas que teria dispensado, tive momentos óptimos. Esses são os momentos em que me quero focar ao chegar ao final do ano.
Travel
This year I’ve been lucky enough to travel to some amazing cities – one of which I go back to regularly, but the others were brand new and the trips were great!
Este ano tive a sorte de visitar cidades incríveis – uma das quais visito regularmente, mas as outras foram novidade e as viagens foram óptimas!
Paris
This year’s trip to Paris took me to less museums but to more areas of my favourite city that I still hadn’t explored. I loved the area around the Canal Saint Martin and Bastille, with the charming Mews style streets. I also loved my stay at the gorgeous Hoxton Hotel – super comfy!
A viagem deste ano a Paris levou-me a menos museus mas a mais zonas da minha cidade preferida que ainda não tinha explorado. Adorei a zona à volta do Canal Saint Martin e próxima da Bastilha, com pequenas ruas e travessas cheias de charme. Também adorei a minha estadia no Hoxton Hotel – tão confortável!
Milan
At the end of May, I met my friend B in Milan for a city break. It involved lots of delicious pizza and pasta, of course – but also a few Aperol Spritz and a good amount of sightseeing!
No final de Maio, encontrei a minha amiga B em Milão para fazermos um city break. A viagem incluiu bastante pizza e pasta, claro – mas também Aperol Spritz e uma boa dose de passeio!
Madrid
I have to say Madrid was my favourite trip of the year – I loved exploring the Spanish capital. I fell in love not just because of the museums (which are some of the best I’ve been to) but also the general vibe of the city, so chilled and fun. I really want to go back!
Devo dizer que Madrid foi a minha viagem preferida do ano – adorei explorar a capital Espanhola. Apaixonei-me não só pelos museus (dos melhores que já visitei) mas também pelo ambiente da cidade no geral, tão relaxado e bem disposto. Quero muito voltar!
Oslo
Oslo was absolutely wonderful. Such an interesting city, with lovely Autumnal feels and of course, the outdoor cultural museum which I absolutely adored.
Oslo foi uma maravilha. Uma cidade super interessante, super Outonal e, claro, o museu cultural ao ar livre que adorei.
London with Mum & Dad
My parents came to visit me in London over Easter and that deserves a special mention within Travel, because I really enjoyed playing tourist with them! It was amazing to be able to host them at my flat, and show them around some new places I’d discovered. The experience of visiting Claridge’s for Afternoon Tea was also super exciting (despite a disappointing service)!
Os meus pais foram-me visitar a Londres na Páscoa e isso merece uma menção especial dentro da categoria de Viagens, porque adorei fazer de turista com eles! Foi óptimo poder recebê-los em minha casa e mostrar-lhes sítios novos e giros que descobri. A experiência de tomar um chá das cinco no Claridge’s também foi espectacular (apesar de um atendimento que deixou a desejar)!
Friends
I’ve been so lucky this year to have had some amazing moments with friends. Some of the most fun memories involve my best friend A: sharing movies, TV Shows and all the gifs, going to gigs, exploring London with R and C, and spending some Summer days in Figueira together.
Este ano tive imensa sorte de ter momentos óptimos com os meus amigos. Algumas das memórias mais divertidas incluem a minha melhor amiga A: partilhar filmes, séries de TV e todos os gifs, ir a concertos, explorar Londres com ela, o R e a C e passar uns dias juntas na Figueira.
I was also lucky to meet and become friends with three amazing ladies who inspire me and whom I admire a lot! I met Diana, Matilde and Rita first through Instagram, and back in April in real life – and I’m so glad. These are strong, motivated, fun and kind ladies that have really made a positive impact on my life over the past few months.
Também tive a sorte de conhecer e tornar-me amiga de três raparigas incríveis que me inspiram e que admiro muito! Conheci a Diana, a Matilde e a Rita primeiro através do Instagram e depois em Abril ao vivo – e ainda bem. São raparigas simpáticas, divertidas, motivadas e fortes que tiveram um impacto super positivo na minha vida nos últimos meses.
Concerts
This year has been filled with concerts by some of my favourite bands and I’m so happy with that!
Este ano também teve uma boa dose de concertos de algumas das minhas bandas preferidas e isso deixa-me super feliz!
Imagine Dragons
The first gig of the year was at The O2 on a bloody freezing February day – totally worth it to see the amazing Imagine Dragons. The concert was energising and so much fun – wish I could go to another one soon!
O primeiro do ano foi na O2 Arena num dia gelado de Fevereiro – e valeu imenso a pena para ver os incríveis Imagine Dragons. O concerto foi cheio de energia e super divertido – quem me dera ir a outro em breve!
Foo Fighters
My favourite band came to London this year and the experience of seeing them live here was incredible. It was a lovely Summer evening – it was still light out when they started playing, and I could scream out all the frustrations of the months before along to songs that mean so much to me.
A minha banda preferida foi a Londres este ano e a experiência de os ver ao vivo lá foi incrível. Estava um dia de Verão incrível – ainda estava luz quando começaram a tocar e pude deitar para fora todas as frustrações dos meses anteriores ao som de canções que têm tanto significado para mim.
Muse
It was 10 years since I had first seen Muse in another Rock in Rio when I headed to that festival with friends to see them live again. What a night. Nothing tops the city festivals in Lisbon – I had an amazing time, and the concert, despite missing some essential songs, was amazing! So much so that I’m seeing them again in 2019.
Dez anos depois de ver os Muse pela primeira vez noutro Rock in Rio, voltei a esse festival com amigos para os ver de novo. Que noite. Nada bate os festivais em Lisboa – diverti-me imenso e o concerto, apesar de ter falhado algumas canções essenciais, foi incrível! Tanto que vou vê-lós outra vez em 2019.
