If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know by now that I went to Oslo for a weekend last week. I was really excited to spend some time in the Norwegian capital, and it did not disappoint! Hope you like this Guide I’ve put together after my trip 🙂

Arriving
The first thing I noticed was how pretty and organised the airport was – super easy to navigate and really well designed.
A primeira coisa que notei foi como o aeroporto era bonito e organizado – super fácil de saber para onde ir e com um design óptimo.
It is really easy to get from the airport to the Central Station – Flytoget, the express train, departs every 10 minutes and costs 190NOK.
É muito fácil chegar do aeroporto à Estação Central – o comboio expresso Flytoget sai de 10 em 10 minutos e custa 190NOK.
Where to Stay
Whenever I visit a new city I try to find a reasonably priced, central hotel. This time I hit the jackpot with the Comfort Hotel Xpress Youngstorget. At walking distance from the main attractions, the room was comfortable and the service was lovely!
Sempre que visito uma cidade nova procuro encontrar um hotel central com preços razoáveis. Desta vez calhou-me a sorte grande com o Comfort Hotel Xpress Youngstorget. Suficientemente perto dos sítios mais importantes que se pode ir a pé, o quarto era confortável e o atendimento foi simpático!
What to See
If you’re visiting a few museums and wandering around the city, check out the Oslo Pass. It will give you access to all museums and to the transport system for 24, 48 or 72 hours.
Se estiverem a pensar visitar alguns museus e passear pela cidade, vale a pena investigar o Oslo Pass. Dá acesso a todos os museus e aos transportes públicos por 24, 48 ou 72 horas.
The first stop in Oslo though, should definitely be the City Hall, which is free to visit and incredibly impressive. The frescoes in the main hall depicting working life in Norway, as well as the mosaics on the floor, are gorgeous – and the fact that this is where the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony happens every year makes it all the more special.
No entanto a primeira paragem em Oslo deve mesmo ser a Câmara, Radhuset, que se pode visitar sem pagar e é verdadeiramente impressionante. Os frescos no átrio principal que ilustram a vida na Noruega, bem como os mosaicos no chão, são lindíssimos – e o facto de ser aqui que acontece a cerimónia de Entrega do Prémio Nobel da Paz todos os anos torna tudo ainda mais especial.
I really loved my visit to Norsk Folkemuseum, the open air museum that looks at Norwegian Culture and ways of life through the years in its various regions. It is absolutely incredible to walk around the houses from different parts of Norway, finding out more about how people lived there. The museum really shines in Autumn as well, with all the beautiful colours – but of course, it’s a little chilly, so bundle up!
Eu adorei a visita ao Norsk Folkemuseum, o museu ao ar livre que mostra a vida e a cultura na Noruega ao longo dos anos, nas várias regiões. É incrível passear pelas casas das diferentes partes da Noruega, descobrindo mais sobre como as pessoas lá viviam. O museu brilha no Outono, com todas as cores da estação – mas, claro, é bastante frio, por isso agasalhem-se!
The Viking Ship museum is worth visiting to appreciate the Viking legacy and find out more about how they travelled around.
Vale a pena visitar o museu do Navio Viking para apreciar o legado dos Vikings e descobrir mais sobre como viajavam.
The National Gallery is beautiful and really well organised – visit to see Munch’s The Scream in the artist’s home town.
A Galeria Nacional é linda e muito bem organizado – visitem para ver O Grito de Munch na terra natal do artista.
For really pretty areas of the city, head to Damstredet, a beautiful street that looks straight out of a children’s story book and to the gorgeous neighbourhood of Kampen. The colourful houses will have you swooning!
Para as zonas mais bonitas da cidade, vão à Damstredet, uma rua linda que parece mesmo saída de um livro de contos para crianças e ao giríssimo bairro Kampen. Vão ficar a suspirar pelas casas coloridas.
Where to Eat
Talor & Jorgen does incredible donuts and divine hot chocolate in a really cool store with great service.
O café Talor & Jorgen faz uns donuts incríveis e um chocolate quente divinal numa loja giríssima com um óptimo atendimento.
Really close by, Fiskeriet is great to try some of Norway’s delicious fish – I had a delicious creamy fish soup that was wonderful in the cold weather!
Mesmo ao lado, o Fiskeriet é um óptimo sítio para experimentar o peixe delicioso da Noruega – eu comi um creme de peixe que me soube às mil maravilhas com o frio que estava!
Sentralen is a very good choice for dinner, with several small plates showcasing the best of new Nordic cuisine.
O Sentralen é uma óptima escolha para jantar, com pratos pequenos que mostram l melhor da nova cozinha Nórdica.
