Is there a better time of the year than Autumn to stay at home under a blanket with a warm cup of tea and a good movie? No, didn’t think so! Today I’m sharing my favourite movies to watch around this time of year, that always make me feel all warm and fuzzy.
Haverá melhor altura no ano do que o Outono para ficar em casa com um cobertor e uma chávena de chá a ver um bom filme? Também me pareceu que não! Hoje venho partilhar os meus filmes preferidos para ver nesta altura do ano, que me fazem sempre sentir bem.
Practical Magic
This is one of my favourite movies in general – especially at this time of year! The story has it all: magic, family, love. And the film has it all too: Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman being amazing and looking flawless, Aidan Quinn being his charming self and beautiful scenery of a small town on the US seaside. Oh and that Faith Hill song. It’s just incredible!
Este é um dos meus filmes preferidos no geral – especialmente nesta altura do ano! A história tem tudo: magia, família, amor. E o filme tem tudo também: Sandra Bullock e Nicole Kidman lindas e a serem incríveis, o Aidan Quinn com o seu ar super charmoso e as vistas incríveis de uma pequena vila costeira nos EUA. Ah e aquela música da Faith Hill. É incrível!
You’ve Got Mail
Tom Hanks. Meg Ryan. Bookstores. New York in Autumn. Need I say more? Yes the story has bits that are a bit odd when you rationalise it, but overall it’s a sweet story with a very cosy feel to it. I wish I could live at The Shop Around the Corner.
Tom Hanks. Meg Ryan. Livrarias. Nova Iorque no Outono. É preciso dizer mais? Sim, a história tem bocados que são estranhos quando racionalizamos a coisa, mas no geral é uma história fofinha e aconchegante. Adorava viver na Shop Around the Corner.
Casper
An old favourite – I used to watch this so often when I was a kid! There’s a big house with gadgets, secret compartments, and crazy ghosts. There’s Christina Ricci looking like the coolest 90s teenager. And there’s that dance scene with Devon Sawa. It’s funny, and cute and the beautiful shots of Maine in Autumn are a delight.
Um favorito de sempre – via isto tantas vezes quando era miúda! Tem uma casa grande com maquinetas, compartimentos secretos e fantasmas doidos. Tem a Christina Ricci a ser a adolescente mais cool dos anos 90. E tem aquela cena com o Devon Sawa. É engraçado, fofo e as paisagens do Maine no Outono são maravilhosas.
The Age of Adaline
This film is absolutely wonderful – Blake Lively is incredible in this, and has the most beautiful outfits! It’s romantic, stylish and cosy – a love story for the ages.
Este filme é uma delícia – a Blake Lively está incrível e tem roupa tão bonita! É romântico, aconchegante e tem imenso estilo – uma história de amor intemporal.
Dead Poets Society
This is a classic, and one of my all time favourites. It’s moving, sweet, funny and heartbreaking. Plus it has all the colours of the US in Autumn, and the charm of the 50s – as well as some of the most beautiful quotes!
Este filme é um clássico e um dos meus favoritos de sempre. É comovente, encantador, divertido e triste. Para mais, tem todas as cores dos EUA no Outono e o charme dos anos 50 – para além das citações mais bonitas de sempre!
