Summer Break
Between time with my parents and cat, wandering around my favourite places in Portugal, and having so much fun when my friends went to visit, this year’s Break was fantastic!
Entre passar tempo com os meus pais e o meu gato, passear pelos meus sítios preferidos em Portugal e divertir-me imenso quando os meus amigos me foram visitar, as férias deste ano foram fantásticas!
Lisbon Brunching
At the end of my Summer Break I met up with Andreia for a brunch in one of the spots I’d been dying to try in Lisbon, Café Janis. It was so great to catch up and try the delicious banana bread!
No final das Férias encontrei-me com a Andreia para um brunch num dos sítios que eu estava doida para experimentar em Lisboa, o Café Janis. Foi óptimo por a conversa em dia e provar o delicioso banana bread!
London with Friends
My friend B came over to London and stayed at mine for a few days at the end of the month. We ordered (and cooked) nice food, watched movies and even went on a super rainy day trip to Rye – it was so much fun!
A minha amiga B veio a Londres e ficou lá em casa durante uns dias no final do mês. Encomendámos (e cozinhámos) boa comida, vimos filmes e até fomos passear a Rye num dia super chuvoso – foi tão giro!
I also met Matilde for a sneaky tour of the famous St Pancras Hotel staircase, a wander to Covent Garden and a trip to the cinema – such a lovely end-of-Summer evening!
Também me encontrei com a Matilde para uma visita à famosa escadaria do St Pancras Hotel, uma caminhada até Covent Garden e uma ida ao cinema – uma óptima noite de final de Verão!
Kindle
This month I finally got my hands on a Kindle Paperwhite, which my Dad very kindly gave me as a present. I’ve been loving this little thing! I do love the feeling of holding a book, but when you’re commuting it’s so much easier to bring this along. It holds all the books! Since getting it, I’ve finished two books and am well on my way to finish another. Bookworm Teresa is back baby!!
Este mês recebi um Kindle Paperwhite de prenda do meu Pai. Tenho estado a adorar esta coisinha! Adoro a sensação de pegar num livro, mas quando se anda de transportes é tão mais fácil trazer isto. Podemos por tudo quanto é livro lá dentro! Desde que recebi o Kindle, já acabei dois livros e estou bem encaminhada para acabar um terceiro. É o regresso da Teresa versão ratinho de biblioteca!!
Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
This was the first book I read on Kindle and I loved it! It’s so well written and so well researched, I adored the characters and now all I want is to visit Guernsey to learn more about the place and its History!
Este foi o primeiro livro que li no Kindle e adorei-o! É tão bem escrito e está tão bem pesquisado, adorei as personagens e agora tudo o que quero é visitar Guernsey e aprender mais sobre a ilha e a sua História!
Dear Mrs Bird
While ‘Guernsey’ is set right after World War II, this book (the second I read on Kindle) is set during the Blitz and it’s again really well written and researched. It gives a really vivid and moving picture of what life was like for young working people in London during that time and it’s a great read!
Enquanto o ‘Guernsey’ é passado logo depois da Segunda Guerra Mundial, este livro (o segundo que li no Kindle) é passado durante o Blitz e é mais uma vez muito bem escrito e bem pesquisado. Faz um relato muito vívido e sentido do que era a vida para jovens trabalhadores na Londres daquela altura e lê-se muito bem!
Orange is the New Black
I resisted this series for years, until this Summer, when everyone was getting really hyped for Season 6, I finally gave in. And it was the best decision! The series is fantastic in that it makes you think, especially about not judging people – the characters are really multidimensional and complex, and the acting is phenomenal.
Resisti a esta série durante anos, até este Verão, quando toda a gente estava a ficar super entusiasmada com a temporada 6 e eu decidi começar a ver. Foi a melhor decisão! A série é fantástica porque faz pensar, especialmente sobre não julgar as pessoas – os personagens são complexos e as actuações são fenomenais.
To All The Boys
When my friend B was over, we watched this new Netflix film and it was such a good one! The characters are adorable and so relatable, the story is so sweet and it’s just one of those warm and fuzzy films that make you hopeful and happy!
Quando a minha amiga B cá esteve, vimos este novo filme do Netflix que é tão bom! Os personagens são adoráveis e é tão fácil de nos identificarmos com eles, a história é tão fofa e é só um daqueles filmes que nos fazem sentir cheios de esperança e felizes!
