Easter weekend highlights

Hi everyone! Is it just me or does this Tuesday feel a lot like a Monday? Easter weekend in the UK finished yesterday and I had a wonderful four days off, with a visit from my Parents! Here are some of the highlights of what we got up to….

Olá a todos! É de mim, ou esta terça-feira parece imenso uma segunda? O fim-de-semana de Páscoa acabou ontem aqui no Reino Unido e eu tive uns óptimos quatro dias de férias, com uma visita dos meus Pais! Aqui ficam os destaques do que fizemos…

Lunch at Bronte

A place I’d really been wanting to show my parents was Bronte, the restaurant on the corner of the Strand and Trafalgar Square, gorgeously decorated by Tom Dixon. We had a delicious meal, made even better by fantastic service!

Um sítio que eu queria imenso mostrar aos meus pais era o Bronte, o restaurante na esquina da Strand com a Trafalgar Square, decorado lindamente por Tom Dixon. Comemos muitíssimo bem e foi ainda melhor porque o atendimento foi fantástico!

Tea at Claridge’s

The most extravagant experience of the weekend was our Afternoon Tea at Claridge’s. Though, for the price, the service left a little to be desired (definitely too long without tea top ups, leaving us with cold tea for a lot of the time), the food was delicious, the room was beautiful, and we even got a celebrity sighting: Chris Martin of Coldplay was sitting across the room!

A experiência mais extravagante do fim-de-semana foi o Chá das Cinco no Claridge’s. Apesar de, para o preço, o serviço ter deixado a desejar (ficámos demasiado tempo sem reabastecimento de chá, portanto com chá frio muito do tempo), a comida estava óptima, a sala era linda e até tivemos um encontro com uma celebridade: o Chris Martin dos Coldplay estava sentado do outro lado da sala!

Windsor

I’d been wanting to go to Windsor for a while and having my parents here made for the perfect excuse! We got really lucky to go in to the Castle when we did because it was pissing it down…and it was so worth visiting! Every single room is stunning, with incredible details and beautiful art pieces. My Mum and I were also excited to see St George’s chapel, where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be getting married in May – it’s small but it’s so detailed and pretty!

Andava há tempos a querer ir a Windsor e ter cá os pais pareceu uma razão ideal! Tivemos imensa sorte de entrar quando entrámos porque estava a chover a potes…e valeu tanto a pena visitar! Cada sala é magnífica, com detalhes incríveis e obras de arte lindas. Eu e a minha mãe também ficamos entusiasmadas de ver a capela onde o Príncipe Harry se vai casar com Meghan Markle em Maio – é pequena mas tão detalhada e bonita!

Impressionists in London at Tate Britain

I am a huge fan of Impressionist art, and this exhibition was one I was really excited to see – but it was even better than I could have expected! It’s really informative about the Franco-Prussian war that destroyed Paris and forced several people, including artists, to flee to the other side of the English channel. Both my Dad and I left wanting to go read more about this conflict, and the three of us were amazed with the pieces we saw there.

Adoro arte Impressionista e esta exposição estava no meu radar – mas foi muito melhor do que estava à espera! Dá imensa informação sobre a guerra Franco-Prussa que destruiu Paris e forçou várias pessoas, incluindo artistas, a fugir para o outro lado do canal da Mancha. Tanto eu como o meu Pai saímos da exposição a querer ler mais sobre o conflito, e os três ficámos super impressionados com as peças que lá vimos.

Maggie Jones

Our Easter lunch was at Maggie Jones in Kensington – I’d seen it on Matilde’s InstaStories and booked a table for Sunday, which I was so excited about! The restaurant is super cosy and the traditional English food is to die for!

O almoço de Páscoa foi no Maggie Jones em Kensington – tinha-o visto nas InstaStories da Matilde e marquei mesa para Domingo – estava ansiosa! O restaurante é super confortável e a comida tradicional inglesa é de chorar por mais!

Wandering about

We also did a lot of wandering around, despite the heavy rain that fell all too often. I particularly loved showing my parents the areas around Sloane Square, Belgravia and Chelsea, where they hadn’t been before. And they really enjoyed it!

Também nos fartámos de passear, apesar da chuva intensa que caiu demasiadas vezes. Gostei especialmente de mostrar aos meus pais as zonas de Sloane Square, Belgravia e Chelsea, onde eles ainda nunca tinham ido. E eles adoraram!
