Hi guys! Hope you’re all well. It’s been a while since I shared a cool food place here, so I thought I’d talk about a place I finally tried this weekend.
Olá a todos! Espero que estejam bem. Já há uns tempos que não partilhava aqui um restaurante/café giro, então quis falar-vos de um que finalmente experimentei este fim-de-semana.
After staying in the flat most of Saturday because it was snowing and so, so cold, on Sunday lunchtime I decided to head out to get some air, take some photos and treat myself to a nice lunch.
Depois de me deixar estar em casa a maior parte do último sábado porque estava a nevar e estava tanto, mas tanto frio, no domingo à hora de almoço decidi sair para apanhar ar, tirar umas fotografias e aproveitar para almoçar fora.
I ended up in front of Biscuiteers, as I inevitably do when I head to Notting Hill, and noticed Peyotito across the road. I’d head about this place before, and as a huge fan of Mexican food (and its culture, people, etc) I decided to try it.
Acabei à frente da Biscuiteers, como acontece sempre que vou a Notting Hill, e reparei no Peyotito do outro lado da rua. Já tinha ouvido falar neste restaurante e, como sou grande fã de comida Mexicana (e da cultura, das pessoas, etc) decidi experimentar.
As this was a cold day treat, I started with the Peyotito margarita, which comes with a tiny bottle of mezcal and with chillies mixed with salt around the brim.
Como era um mimo num dia frio, comecei com a Margarita Peyotito, que vem com um frasquinho de mezcal e que tem chillies misturados com sal na borda do copo.
Next up was the Pulpo A La Mexicana – a delicious octopus ceviche with a slightly spicy Mexican salsa and coriander. Basically my ideal dish, as I love a good octopus salad!
A seguir experimentei o Pulpo A La Mexicana – um ceviche de polvo delicioso com molho Mexicano ligeiramente picante e coentros. Basicamente o meu prato ideal – adoro uma boa salada de polvo!
My main course was the Enchilada de Pollo – chicken enchiladas made special by the mole negro soft tortillas. Full of flavour and not too heavy, this was absolutely divine.
O meu prato principal foi a Enchilada de Pollo – enchiladas de frango, especiais graças às tortillas de mole negro. Cheias de sabor sem serem demasiado pesadas, estavam divinais.
Because I could not leave without a little coffee and dessert, I chose a vanilla flan and let me tell you, it was perfect! Served with blueberries and strawberries, it was sweet but not sickly, and not at all heavy – a perfect finishing note to the meal.
Claro que não podia ir embora sem um café e uma sobremesa, então escolhi um flan de baunilha e, deixem que vos diga, estava perfeito! Servido com mirtilo e morango, era doce mas não enjoativo, e nada pesado – a forma perfeita de acabar a refeição.
