#1 The Rules of Magic
Years ago I read and loved Practical Magic, by Alice Hoffman – I was a teenager and had fallen in love with the movie, and read through that book like there was no tomorrow. When I found out the prequel was coming out this year I pre-ordered it from Amazon and waited impatiently. It was worth it! The story follows Franny and Jet – aka the cool aunts from Practical Magic – from their teens and as they grow, and it’s just as magical, thrilling, and full of beautiful details as you’d expect.
Há anos, quando era adolescente e depois de ver e adorar o filme, li o livro Practical Magic de Alice Hoffman como se não houvesse amanhã. Quando descobri que ia sair uma prequela este ano, reservei-a no Amazon e esperei impacientemente. Valeu a pena! A história segue Franny e Jet (as tias do Practical Magic) desde a adolescência e enquanto crescem e é tão mágica, emocionante e cheia de detalhes fantásticos como seria de esperar.
#2 Boots from Salsa
When I was in Lisbon last month I picked up a pair of jeans and a pair of boots from one of my favourite brands, Salsa. This week I’ve basically lived in both, but the boots have been a revelation! They’re suede, have a higher heel than I’m used to wearing and are a little pointy, which again I’m not used to but have been loving because it feels more elegant, somehow. They’re also super comfortable and didn’t hurt my feet or ankles at all, not even on the first day of wearing them!
Quando estive em Lisboa no mês passado comprei umas calças e umas botas numa das minhas lojas preferidas, a Salsa. Esta semana passei o tempo todo com as duas coisas, mas as botas foram uma revelação! São de camurça, têm um salto mais alto do que eu costumo usar e são um bocadinho em bico o que também não é costume para mim, mas que gosto porque de certo modo parece mais elegante. Também são super confortáveis e não magoaram nada os meus pés ou os meus tornozelos, nem no primeiro dia de uso!
#3 Eau de Sézane
I have finally been able to pick up the Sézane perfume thanks to their (beautiful) pop-up store in London – and I have been loving it! The perfume lasts all day on my skin and settles to a lovely, warm, cosy scent that I find myself sniffing through the day. I also spray it on my clothes in the morning for it to last a bit longer and it’s been one of my favourite new rituals!
Finalmente pude comprar o perfume da Sézane graças à pop-up (linda) que têm em Londres – e tenho estado a adorar! O perfume dura o dia todo na minha pele e quando assenta fica um cheiro óptimo e aconchegante. Dou por mim a cheirá-lo durante o dia. Também ponho o perfume na roupa de manhã para durar um pouco mais e tem sido um dos meus novos rituais preferidos!
