3 reasons to watch…Stranger Things 2

Stranger Things was a TV show phenomenon that hit Netflix around the summer of 2016. With hints of all the best 80s adventure films, from Goonies to ET, and a fantastic cast of both adult and young actors, Stranger Things quickly became a cult favourite.

Stranger Things foi uma série fenómeno que chegou ao Netflix por alturas do Verão de 2016. Com influências de todos os melhores filmes de aventura dos anos 80 – dos Goonies ao ET – e um elenco fantástico de actores adultos e mais jovens, Stranger Things tornou-se rapidamente uma série de culto.

It took a little over a (long, dark) year for the new season to be released. Once it was, countless fans (myself included, of course) rushed to watch the new episodes. And with good reason, because the new season is amazing! I’ve seen it twice now and might go for a third because there are things there that I just loved that much. Here are the 3 reasons why you should watch it – and don’t worry, it’s spoiler free.

Demorou um pouco mais de um (longo, triste) ano para a nova temporada ser lançada. Quando foi, um sem número de fãs (eu incluída, claro) correram a ver os novos episódios. E razões para isso não faltaram, porque a nova temporada é fantástica! Já a vi duas vezes e ainda sou capaz de ver uma terceira porque há coisas de que gostei mesmo muito. Aqui ficam as 3 razões pelas quais devem ver esta temporada – e não se preocupem, não tem spoilers.

#1 New characters // Novos personagens 

The characters in Stranger Things are all well developed, with quirky characteristics and great stories – and the new additions are no exception! Bob, Max and even Billy are so good! Bob is sweet and cheesy but also loveable and super intelligent. Max is cool and strong but also mysterious and vulnerable. Billy…well he’s a d*ck but I think there might be more there.

Os personagens na série são todos bem desenvolvidos, com características peculiares e óptimas histórias – e os novos recrutas não são excepção! O Bob, a Max e até o Billy são tão bons! O Bob é um doce e simples, mas é adorável e super inteligente. A Max é corajosa e forte, mas ao mesmo tempo misteriosa e vulnerável. O Billy…bom é uma besta, mas acho que há ali mais do que já se viu.

#2 Family Ties // Laços de Família

You get to see a bit more of Dustin and Lucas’ family lives and it’s both sweet and funny. Dustin has a relationship with his mum that is sweet but cheeky just like he is. Lucas’ family is close and the best thing has got to be his sister, one of the standout stars of this season. 

Nesta temporada vemos mais da vida familiar do Dustin e do Lucas e isso é fofo e engraçado ao mesmo tempo. O Dustin têm uma relação doce mas reguila com a mãe, tal como ele é. A família do Lucas é próxima e a melhor parte é a irmã dele, uma das estrelas desta temporada.

#3 Friendships // Amizades

For me, the best bit of the second season was the change in Steve’s character – he has still got that beautiful hair, don’t worry, but he becomes a much more caring, friendly, sweet and funny character through his friendship with Dustin. I also loved the special bond between Will and Mike, as they grew even closer through the season – both children, but both kind and intelligent, wanting to help sort the situation.

Para mim, a melhor parte da segunda temporada foi a mudança no Steve – ainda tem aquele cabelo magnífico, não se preocupem, mas torna-se um personagem mais preocupado, amigável, doce e engraçado através da sua amizade com o Dustin. Também adorei a ligação especial entre o Will e o Mike que se tornaram mais próximos ao longo da temporada.

All in all it’s a very special season – full of impressive character development, great story arches, sweet relationships and funny moments. I loved it – probably even more than season 1! So I guess you could say I really recommend it! 😉

No geral é uma temporada especial – cheia de desenvolvimento impressionante de personagens, óptimas histórias, relações queridas e momentos engraçados. Adorei – talvez até mais do que a temporada 1! Por isso acho que se pode dizer que recomendo vivamente! 😉
