September was a rather busy month – between the house move, work getting busy and me trying to get healthier, it’s been full on! But it had great moments and there have been a few things I’ve loved. Here’s a quick look at them.
Setembro foi um mês agitado – entre a mudança de casa, o trabalho a aumentar e eu a tentar ser mais saudável, foi um mês ocupado! Mas teve momentos óptimos e houve coisas que adorei. Aqui ficam algumas delas.

Vans Old Skool
I bought these in Summer after seeing a bunch of people at the NOS Alive festival wearing them. They are black and as such a little too warm to wear in Summer, but I’ve recently been wearing them with my culotte trousers and I love the way they look. Plus they’re really comfortable too!
Comprei estes ténis no Verão depois de ter visto uma data de gente no Alive com eles calçados. Como são pretos tornam-se muito quentes para o Verão, mas agora que o tempo começa a arrefecer tenho-os usado com as minhas calças culotte e adoro como ficam!
Zara culotte trousers
I bought these after my friend M bought herself the pink ones, and I’ve been getting so much wear out of them! The fabric is light enough for these early Autumn days when it’s not super cold yet, and because they’re black they look put together. I wear them either with a white shirt or a t-shirt tucked in and with the Vans or my Stan Smiths.
Comprei estas calças depois da minha amiga M ter comprado as mesmas em rosa, e tenho-as usado imenso! O tecido é suficientemente leve para os dias de Outono em que ainda não está super frio, e como são pretas dão um ar mais arranjado. Uso-as com uma t-shirt ou uma camisa branca por dentro, e com os Vans ou os meus Stan Smith.

Little Book of Lykke
Last year I read and loved Meik Wiking’s book on Hygge, so when I discovered he had a new book coming out about Lykke (Danish for Happiness), I knew I had to get it. It’s the most interesting, upbeat, cosy book. I’ve been reading it before bed to wind down and it’s an absolute joy, full of inspiration and ideas.
No ano passado li e adorei o livro de Meik Wiking sobre Hygge, por isso quando ouvi dizer que ele tinha um livro novo sobre Lykke (a palavra Dinamarquesa para Felicidade), soube que tinha de o comprar. É o livro mais interessante, positivo e aconchegante. Tenho-o lido antes de me deitar para relaxar e é uma maravilha, cheio de inspiração e ideias.
PS from Paris
This is the latest book from Marc Levy, who is said to be the most-read French author alive today. It is a novel that follows two people who meet in unusual circumstances in Paris. It’s a nice, lovely read that has been keeping me company on long tube journeys.
Este é o livro mais recente de Marc Levy, que dizem ser o autor francês mais lido ainda em vida. É um romance que segue duas pessoas que se conhecem em circunstâncias pouco comuns em Paris. É uma leitura fácil e agradável, que me tem feito companhia nas viagens de metro.

Primark Metal Hangers
When I moved to the new flat I decided I’d get all new, all matching hangers to keep my clothes tidy in the closet. So I headed to Primark’s home section and found these hangers. They’re exactly what I was after, they’re slim and elegant and make my closet look extra organised!
Quando me mudei para a casa nova decidi que queria comprar cabides novos e todos iguais para manter as roupas organizadas no armário. Por isso fui à secção de casa do Primark e lá encontrei estes cabides. São exactamente o que eu queria: finos, elegantes e dão um ar extra organizado ao armário!
‘Alfacinha dos caracóis’ plate
When I was Home at the beginning of August my parents gave me this cute little piece as a present. “Alfacinha” is the nickname given to people from Lisbon, and it inspired my blog’s name because that’s where I’m from. And so this cute little plate is a lettuce leaf with a little snail. I didn’t want to use it until I moved to the new flat, and now it’s near my TV as a plate for me to keep my keys and other bits.
Quando estive em casa no princípio de Agosto, os meus pais deram-me este presente. Um trocadilho entre a menina de Lisboa com caracóis (na caixa) e a folha de alface com um caracol (o prato), é uma ideia engraçada! Não quis usá-lo até estar na casa nova e agora está ao pé da TV e é o sítio onde ponho as chaves ao chegar.

Friends
The box set of Friends always comes up when I need to just put something on while I’m tidying or when I need a mood boost. Of course it came out when I moved to the new flat and I’ve started watching all the episodes in order again. I’m currently halfway through season 3, quoting every line and laughing as if I’d never seen it before.
A caixa da série Friends volta sempre a ser usada quando preciso de ter barulho de fundo enquanto estou a fazer alguma coisa, ou quando preciso de ficar de bom humor. Claro que pus os DVDs quando me mudei e tenho estado a ver os episódios todos por ordem. Estou actualmente a meio da temporada 3, a citar cada frase e a rir-me como se nunca tivesse visto.
Foo Fighters: Back and Forth
I won’t dwell on this one because I talked about it in my last post but I loved this documentary so much, I’ve already seen it twice.
Não me vou prolongar sobre isto porque já falei sobre ele no meu último post, mas adorei este documentário de tal forma que já o vi duas vezes.

Taylor Swift
The new Taylor Swift album was announced this month, two songs have dropped, and surprisingly, I like them both! Yes, they’re very different from her 1989 album which was amazing, but they’re catchy and fun!
O novo disco da Taylor Swift foi anunciado este mês, já saíram duas canções e, surpreendentemente, gosto das duas! Sim, são muito diferentes do disco 1989 que é fantástico, mas são divertidas e ficam no ouvido!
Foo Fighters: Concrete and Gold
I love the Foos, so I was beyond excited when the notification popped up from my Spotify telling me the new album was out. So far, my favourites are The Sky is a Neighborhood and Sunday Rain (sung by Taylor Hawkins) – they are incredible!
Adoro os Foos, por isso fiquei numa excitação quando surgiu no Spotify o aviso a dizer que o novo disco deles estava disponível. Até agora as minhas preferidas são The Sky is a Neighborhood e Sunday Rain (que é cantada pelo Taylor Hawkins) – são incríveis!
Friendships
I’ve loved having more regular catch ups with my friends back home over the past month. Thank heavens for technology! Not only have I been able to have more of a support network in the stressful times that led to the move, but I also got to celebrate exciting events in a friend’s life which made me really happy.
Tenho adorado falar mais regularmente com os meus amigos Portugueses no último mês. Abençoada tecnologia! Não só tive uma rede de apoio maior nas alturas de stress antes da mudança, mas também pude celebrar momentos marcantes na vida de um amigo, o que me deixou super feliz.
