Hi guys- hope you’re well 🙂 Sorry about my absence over the past week – after a few days in Portugal with my family and best friends, it became a little difficult to get back to normal life! But I’m back in the game now and excited to share with you a list of the best coffee places in Lisbon.
Bom dia a todos – espero que estejam bem 🙂 Desculpem a ausência na última semana – depois de uns dias em Portugal com a minha família e as minhas melhores amigas, tornou-se difícil voltar à vida quotidiana! Mas já estou de volta e entusiasmada por partilhar convosco uma lista dos melhores cafés novos de Lisboa.
Lisbon as a city is blooming recently and there are so many new places opening up that are modern and cosmopolitan! For me, the best ones are the very cool coffee shops that have been popping up all over town.
Como cidade, Lisboa está a florescer – e há imensos sítios novos que são modernos e cosmopolitas! Para mim, os melhores são os cafés trendy que têm aberto pela cidade.
My discovery of these places has been aided by the beautiful blogs and instagrams of three lovely ladies: Sara Cabido, Andreia Calisto and Andreia Lopes Costa, aka Hey Andie Hey. I’ve literally got a list of places to visit in Lisbon based on posts I’ve seen by these girls, and they never disappoint. So here are my favourite ones so far…
A minha descoberta destes locais tem sido ajudada pelos lindíssimos blogs e instagrams de três raparigas muito queridas: Sara Cabido, Andreia Calisto e Andreia Lopes Costa, ou Hey Andie Hey. Tenho literalmente uma lista de sítios para visitar em Lisboa com base em posts que vi nos instagrams delas e nunca fico desiludida. Aqui ficam os meus favoritos até agora…
Heim Café
Heim is a café located in one of Lisbon’s old and traditional neighbourhoods, just across the street from the French embassy. The space is small but beautiful, bright and cosy – full of plants and cute artwork. The brunch is incredible and the coffee (with non dairy milk options which are always a big plus!!) is delicious!
O Heim fica num dos bairros antigos e tradicionais de Lisboa, do outro lado da rua da Embaixada Francesa. O espaço é pequeno mas bonito, confortável e cheio de luz – cheio de plantas e quadros giros. O brunch é óptimo e o café (com opções de leite sem lactose o que é sempre bom!!) é delicioso.
Hello, Kristof
Not far from Heim is Hello, Kristof – another cool coffee shop that stands out for the incredible collection of magazines available to read in store. I’m a big fan of both their latte and iced latte with almond milk – but the back wall with all the best publications of the moment is the big winner here!
Não muito longe do Heim fica o Hello, Kristof – outro café cheio de pinta que se destaca pela coleção incrível de revistas para ler na loja. Sou grande fã tanto do Latte como do Iced Latte com leite de amêndoa – mas a parede do fundo com os números mais recentes das melhores revistas do momento é a grande vencedora aqui!
Wish Slow Coffee House
I first knew Wish as a store with tons of pretty stationery in the uber cool Lx Factory. But now this store has branched out and their coffee shops, one at Lx Factory, the other one in the Chiado area in central Lisbon, are amazing. The spaces are bright and airy, they have a wide variety of drinks (from coffee to matcha lattes, etc) and some delicious cakes!
Conheci a Wish como loja cheia de produtos de papelaria giros no super trendy Lx Factory. Mas agora a loja variou o negócio e os cafés, um no Lx Factory e outro no Chiado, são fantásticos. Os espaços são arejados e cheios de luz, têm uma variedade grande de bebidas (desde café a matcha lattes, etc.) e bolos deliciosos!
Despensa N6
Further from the tourist centre of Lisbon, Despensa N6 is located just off Avenida de Roma in a residential neighbourhood. The decor is amazing, in shades of brown, copper and pastel green. And the coffee is great! But what wins me over in this place is the ‘healthy pastry’ slogan – their pastries are free from gluten and sugar!
Mais fora da zona turística, a Despensa N6 fica num bairro residencial perto da Avenida de Roma. A decoração é fantástica, em tons de castanho, acobreado e verde claro. E o café é óptimo! Mas o que me convence neste café é o slogan ‘healthy pastry’ – os bolos são feitos sem glúten e sem açúcar!
Something rather unusual, especially in a country famous for its sweet treats, but very welcome for people wanting to watch what they eat! I had a cacao truffle that was super tasty and not overly sweet – a perfect companion for coffee!
Algo pouco comum, especialmente num país famoso pelos doces, mas muito bem-vindo para quem está a ter cuidado com o que come! Eu experimentei uma trufa de cacau que era super saborosa e não demasiado doce – um óptimo acompanhamento para um café!
