Over the past couple of months I’ve finally been getting back into the rhythm of reading more frequently. I love reading, but unless it’s a book that grips me from the start I genuinely struggle to finish it. Recently, though, I’ve found a few that have been real page turners and I’m excited to get through the new additions to my reading list!
Nos últimos meses tenho finalmente voltado a ganhar o ritmo de ler mais frequentemente. Adoro ler, mas a menos que seja um livro que me agarre desde o início tenho grandes dificuldades em acabar. Recentemente tenho encontrado uns que têm sido bons de ler e estou entusiasmada para ler as novas adições à minha lista de leituras!
PS from Paris
The first on my list, which I’m currently reading avidly on tube journeys, is PS from Paris from Marc Levy. Set in Paris and following the story of two people brought together in unusual circumstances, this is a really nice, relaxing read.
O primeiro na minha lista, que ando a ler actualmente nas viagens de metro, chama-se PS from Paris de Marc Levy. Passado em Paris e seguindo a história de duas pessoas que se aproximam numa situação pouco habitual, este livro é bom de ler e é relaxante.
The Power
After reading The Handmaid’s Tale, I was recommended this book by a few people in different bookshops so I was excited to give it a go. I did start it and found it a little difficult, so I ended up putting it down. But I’m definitely going to be picking it back up to give it another try.
Depois de let The Handmaid’s Tale, este livro foi-me recomendado por várias pessoas em livrarias diferentes, por isso estava entusiasmada por começar. E até comecei, mas achei difícil de entrar na história e acabei por o por de lado. Mas vou voltar a tentar lê-lo em breve.
Alias Grace
Another Margaret Atwood book, this one was recommended to me at my favourite Daunt Books, in Marylebone High Street. It’s meant to be one of her greatest books and it’s inspiring a series on Netflix that starts in November, so I’m aiming to finish this one before then!
Mais um livro de Margaret Atwood, este foi-me recomendado na minha livraria preferida, a Daunt Books de Marylebone High Street. É suposto ser um dos seus melhores livros e vai ser a inspiração para uma nova série do Netflix que começa em Novembro, por isso estou a apontar para acabar o livro antes disso!
Tales of the City
Armistead Maupin’s collection of chronicles, first published in a San Francisco newspaper, paints a brilliant of the Bay Area city in the 1970s. And it’s easy to get through because the chapters are very light and short! I’ve put it down for now because I wanted to get through the others but will be picking it back up.
A colecção de crónicas de Armistead Maupin, inicialmente publicado num jornal de São Francisco, dá uma visão única da cidade californiana nos anos 1970. E é fácil de ler porque os capítulos são curtos e de leitura fácil! Pu-lo de parte por agora porque queria adiantar a leitura dos outros mas vou voltar a pegar-lhe.
A Game of Thrones
Considering we have to wait until 2019 for the final series of Game of Thrones, I figured I’d start reading the books. I have a lot to catch up on but there is still some time! I always love reading the books after the series or movies because I get more details, so I’m excited to start!
Tendo em conta que vamos ter de esperar até 2019 para a última temporada da Guerra dos Tronos, decidi começar a ler os livros. Tenho muito que ler, mas há tempo! Gosto sempre de ler os livros depois de ver os filmes ou séries porque tenho mais detalhes, por isso estou ansiosa por começar!
Little Black Book
I’ve heard great things about this little book, that is meant to have really great career tips for women either starting/running their own businesses or working in a corporate environment. This is one I’m slowly getting through when I need some inspiration.
Ouvi dizer muito bem deste livrinho, que dizem ter óptimas dicas de carreira para mulheres que estejam a começar/gerir o seu próprio negócio ou até a trabalhar num escritório. Este é um livro que vou lendo aos bocadinhos quando preciso de inspiração.
