Hi everyone, hope you’re doing well! Today’s post is a trip to a great coffee shop I tried for the first time yesterday – Holborn Grind.
Olá a todos, espero que estejam bem! O post de hoje é uma visita a um café óptimo que visitei pela primeira vez ontem – Holborn Grind.
Grind is a group of restaurants and cafés in several locations around London, probably best known for their Soho store (and their cool neon signs!).
O Grind é um grupo de restaurantes e cafés em vários locais espalhados por Londres, provavelmente mais conhecidos pelo café no Soho (e pelos sinais fluorescentes!).
Yesterday I was meeting up with my friend A who’s just come back from a long holiday and, coffee addicts that we both are, we decided to start the day by meeting up for coffee. So we headed to Holborn Grind.
Ontem ia-me encontrar com a minha amiga A que voltou recentemente de umas férias grandes e, viciadas em café que somos, decidimos começar o dia com um café. Então fomos ao Holborn Grind.
Holborn Grind is a stone’s throw away from Holborn tube station, close to the British Museum, and right next door to the Hoxton hotel.
O Holborn Grind fica a dois passos da estação de metro Holborn, perto do British Museum, e mesmo ao lado do hotel Hoxton.
The decor is incredible, with beautiful honeycomb shaped grey tiles and exposed brick, plus table tops with wood and marble and metallic lamps. Seriously, a dream!
A decoração é incrível, com azulejos cinzentos em forma de favo de mel e tijolos expostos e ainda mesas de madeira e mármore e candeeiros metálicos. A sério, é um sonho!
And they have the most delicious looking food – I noticed some juices that looked rather tempting, but I needed the coffee! We both opted for coffees and a Portuguese Nata (custard tart). My almond flat white (inspired by my friend Leah from SardinesPlease) was delicious, and the custard tart was too!
E têm comida com um ar delicioso – reparei nuns sumos com um ar tentador, mas precisava do café! Optámos as duas por um café e um pastel de nata. O meu flat white com leite de amêndoa (inspirado pela minha amiga Leah do SardinesPlease) estava delicioso, e o pastel de nata também!
I loved it so much that I am actually half tempted to leave for work earlier so I can hop off the tube in Holborn, get a flat white and a Nata, and then get back in the tube to work…! Now I really want to try the other Grind cafés around London…might make a list!
Gostei tanto do café que estou um bocado tentada a sair de casa mais cedo para sair do metro em Holborn, tomar um flat white e um pastel de nata, e depois voltar a apanhar o metro para o trabalho…! E agora quero imenso experimentar os outros cafés Grind em Londres…sou capaz de fazer uma lista!
