#1 Classic Audrey Hepburn movies
Ahead of my trip to Rome I decided to watch films set in the city, and Roman Holiday was obviously on the list. I heard so much about it due to the controversy with its (initially uncredited) main writer, Dalton Trumbo, and the fact that it was Audrey Hepburn’s first major film role. I was enchanted. She is absolutely magic and her onscreen partnership with the super charming Gregory Peck is spot on.
Antes da minha viagem a Roma, decidi ver filmes passados na cidade e o Roman Holiday estava, claro, na lista. Já tinha ouvido falar tanto do filme devido à polémica com o seu autor principal (a quem de início não foi dado crédito) Dalton Trumb, e por ser o primeiro grande papel no cinema de Audrey Hepburn. Fiquei encantada. Ela é absolutamente mágica e a parceria com o super charmoso Gregory Peck é excelente.
And then I was so in the mood for Audrey films that I watched Sabrina, where she starred opposite the great Humphrey Bogart and William Holden. The film is uber stylish and a landmark in the collaboration between Audrey Hepburn and Hubert de Givenchy. It’s catchy, adorable, and you get a first glimpse of Audrey H singing in film – this time it’s ‘La Vie en Rose’. Incredible!
E depois estava com vontade de ver mais filmes da Audrey Hepburn e vi Sabrina, onde ela entra com Humphrey Bogart and William Holden. O filme é ultra chic, cheio de estilo, e um marco na colaboração entre Audrey Hepburn e Hubert de Givenchy. É cativante, adorável e temos uma primeira impressão da Audrey H a cantar num Filme – deste filme é ‘La Vie en Rose’. Incrível!
#2 New fashion pieces
After selling a Chloe Faye because it isn’t a practical bag for me at all, I was able to buy my true dream bag – the Gucci Soho Disco bag. It’s perfect – the size is just right, it’s practical and absolutely gorgeous. I got it at the duty free area at Heathrow which makes me even happier – because it was quite considerably cheaper than it’s regular price!
Depois de vender a minha carteira Faye da Chloe porque não era nada pratica para mim, pude comprar a carteira que realmente queria – a Soho Disco da Gucci. É perfeita – o tamanho é ideal, é pratica e linda de morrer! Comprei-a na zona de Duty Free do aeroporto de Heathrow o que ainda me faz mais feliz – porque foi bastante mais barata do que o preço habitual!
I also received the Mom Jeans from Sézane. They’re elegant, really comfortable and great to walk around in – great for my trip to Rome!
Também recebi finalmente os meus Mom Jeans da Sézane. São elegantes, super confortáveis e óptimas para passear – excelentes para a viagem a Roma!
And while in the Italian capital I came across a gorgeous shoe shop and fell in love with these glowy camel ballet flats. Their pointy shape elongates the leg and makes me look more elegant, and they’re super comfortable.
E já na capital Italiana passei por uma loja de sapatos linda e apaixonei-me por umas sabrinas beiges com um ligeiro brilho. O formato pontiagudo dá um ar mais longo às pernas fazendo-me parecer mais elegante, e são super confortáveis.
#3 Roma!
Last, but most definitely not least, my main highlight of this week has to be Rome. It is my first visit to this great and historical city and it has surpassed my wildest expectations. Everything is beautiful, there’s a piece of history in every corner you turn and the mood of the city is contagious. Fell in love with Rome, and with Italy – now to plan my swift return!
Por fim, mas não menos importante, o meu destaque principal da semana tem de ser Roma. É a minha primeira visita a esta cidade fantástica e histórica e tem ultrapassado todas as minhas expectativas. Tudo é lindíssimo, há História a cada canto e o ambiente da cidade é contagiante. Apaixonei-me por Roma e por Itália – agora só falta planear um regresso!
