#1 Family Day Out
There is nothing that I love more than to spend time with my family – and it is always special when my cousins and I get together here in London. We gathered in west London this time and got super lucky with the weather – the warm and sunny day made it perfect to walk along the Thames, have a lovely lunch, and sit in the park chatting.
Não há nada que eu goste mais do que passar tempo com a minha família – e é sempre especial quando as primas (e primos) se juntam aqui em Londres. Desta vez reunimo-nos no Oeste de Londres e tivemos imensa sorte com o tempo – o dia quente e de sol foi perfeito para passear ao longo do Tâmisa, ter um óptimo almoço e passar tempo no parque a conversar.
Between catching up on each other’s news and playing with little V, and then coming back to my flat for cake (which disappeared quickly, something I’m damn proud of!), the day was amazing in many ways and it made me super happy. Now I’m looking forward to the next reunion – at the beginning of May for my birthday (eek)!
Entre por a conversa em dia com as últimas notícias uns dos outros e brincar o V, e depois vir até à minha casa para comer bolo (que desapareceu ultra rápido, coisa que me deixa super orgulhosa!), o dia foi fantástico por várias razões e deixou-me super feliz. Agora estou ansiosa pelo próximo encontro – no início de Maio para os meus anos (ui)!
#2 Carrie Fisher Tribute at SWCO
The Star Wars Celebration marked the 40th anniversary of the Saga this week. Aside from many other moving moments, they released this wonderful video. It’s a beautiful tribute to the tremendously funny and intelligent actress who was so honest about her mental health struggles, hoping to make it ok to talk about such things (and helping many of us in the process).
A Star Wars Celebration celebrou esta semana os 40 anos da Saga. Para além de outros momentos emocionantes, mostraram este maravilhoso vídeo. É um tributo lindo à actriz tremendamente engraçada e inteligente que sempre foi honesta em relação aos seus problemas de saúde mental, esperando que isso ajudasse a falar sobre esses assuntos (ajudando muitos de nós pelo caminho).
She defined what it was to see a role model on screen for many little girls of my generation, and as Leia evolved so did our admiration. Carrie Fisher will always be an inspiration and a hero of mine for her wit and bravery – this video is a brilliant reminder of why. You should also watch her daughter Billie Lourd’s tribute in the same event, reciting the “help me Obi-Wan Kenobi” monologue flawlessly.
Ela tornou possível ver um exemplo no grande ecrã para muitas meninas da minha geração e à medida que a Leia evoluía, a nossa admiração crescia. Carrie Fisher será sempre uma inspiração e uma das minhas heroínas pela sua coragem e perspicácia – este video é uma óptima forma de lembrar o porquê disso mesmo. Também deviam ver a homenagem de Billie Lourd, filha de Carrie Fisher, no mesmo evento, a recitar o monólogo “ajuda-me Obi-Wan Kenobi” de forma perfeita.
#3 The Last Jedi Panel, Poster & Trailer
Yep, I’m doing it. I’m adding two Star Wars related things to my highlights of the week. It’s no secret that I am a huge Star Wars fan and so yesterday I followed The Last Jedi panel live on the Star Wars Facebook page, excited for the trailer we had been promised. And damn it, it did not disappoint.
Sim, estou a fazer isto. Estou a por duas coisas relacionadas com Star Wars nos meus destaques da semana. Não é segredo que sou uma enorme fã de Star Wars e por isso ontem segui o painel do filme The Last Jedi em directo na página de Facebook da saga, entusiasmada para ver o trailer que tinha sido prometido. E bolas, que não desiludiu.
To start off with, the panel was hosted by Josh Gad, aka Olaf from Frozen, LeFou from Beauty and the Beast and the fellow Star Wars nerd that spent many a twitter video trying to get Daisy Ridley to tell him more about Episode VIII. Josh Gad is absolutely hilarious and did a brilliant job of making this panel interesting and hugely entertaining!
Para começar, o painel foi apresentado por Josh Gad, também conhecido como o Olaf do Frozen, o LeFou de A Bela e o Monstro e o nerd Star Wars que passou vários vídeos no Twitter a tentar convencer Daisy Ridley a contar-lhe mais sobre o episódio VIII. Josh Gad é completamente hilariante e fez um excelente trabalho de tornar este painel interessante e super divertido!
And then we got to the big reveals: first the poster (it is stunning) and then…the trailer. It is small but in its short space of time it peaked my interest (even more) – and left me with so many questions! Bring on December 15th!
E depois chegámos às grandes revelações: primeiro o poster (é lindo) e depois…o trailer. É pequeno, mas na sua curta duração captivou-me (ainda mais) – e deixou-me com tantas perguntas! Que venha o dia 15 de Dezembro!
