I’ve been a fan of Emma Watson’s for years now, and my respect and admiration for her keeps growing with her projects for UN Women, He for She, Our Shared Shelf, etc.

Há anos que sou fã de Emma Watson e o meu respeito e admiração por ela cresce com os seus projectos com UN Women, He for She, Our Shared Shelf, etc.

Emma’s Into the Gloss and Elle magazine interviews gave me back a curiosity about Sustainable beauty products and charitable work. They made me want to take action, to do something to help others, to advance the issues women in the world still face.

As entrevistas que Emma deu ao blog Into the Gloss e à revista Elle devolveram-me uma curiosidade sobre produtos de beleza sustentáveis e trabalho com organizações de caridade. Deram-me vontade de fazer alguma coisa para ajudar o próximo, para avançar os problemas que as mulheres do mundo ainda enfrentam.

And then there is the interview she gave to BuzzFeed. I mean Emma Watson, cutest and most inspirational actress around, surrounded by tiny kittens and getting as excited as I would if I had those balls of fur to play with – how can you top that? She topped it by answering questions about her new movie and her activism super eloquently, while also promoting the charity that cares for those beautiful animals. Amazing!

E depois veio a entrevista ao BuzzFeed. Quer dizer, a Emma Watson, a actriz mais gira e inspiradora que por aí anda, rodeado de gatinhos bebés e a ficar tão entusiasmada como eu ficaria se tivesse aquelas bolinhas de pêlo para brincar – como é que isto podia ser melhor? Emma fê-lo ao responder às perguntas sobre o seu novo filme e sobre o seu activismo de forma super eloquente, enquanto ao mesmo tempo promovia a organização que cuida daqueles animais tão giros. Incrível!

#2 ‘Blind Date’ (Netflix)

I am a huge, huge fan of French cinema. It took me years to get on board with it but once I did I never looked back. While sick at home this week, I watched ‘Blind Date’, a French romantic comedy. This kept popping up on my Netflix suggestions, so I decided to try it – and loved it!

Sou uma enorme fã do cinema Francês. Demorei anos a começar a apreciá-lo em condições, mas uma vez começando nunca voltei atrás. Enquanto estive doente em casa esta semana vi o filme ‘Um Encontro às Cegas’, uma comédia romântica Francesa. O filme estava sempre a aparecer nas minhas sugestões do Netflix e então decidi experimentar – e adorei!

It’s a very charming film that tells the story of a man (an inventor who loves to be alone and in silence so he can focus on his work) and a woman (a straight laced pianist who must practice for an important career moment) who become reluctant neighbours, separated by a very thin wall. What ensues is adorable, and based off the premise that when one sense is removed, the others are heightened.  Watch it, it’s great!

É um filme encantador que conta a história de um homem (um inventor que adora estar sozinho e em silêncio para se focar no trabalho) e uma mulher (uma pianista certinha que tem de praticar para um momento importante da sua carreira) que se tornam vizinhos relutantes, separados por uma parede muito fina. O que se segue é adorável e baseado na premissa de que quando um sentido é removido, os outros são aumentados. Vejam, é óptimo!

#3 Flowers

Based on what I can see from a) my window, b) my walk to the doctors & the pharmacy a couple of days ago, and c) my Instagram feed, it looks like Spring has officially arrived in London.

Com base no que consigo ver a) da minha janela, b) da minha ida ao médico e à farmácia há uns dias e c) do meu feed de Instagram, parece que a Primavera chegou oficialmente a Londres.

This is my favourite season – the days get longer, the temperature is a little warmer, but not (yet) too hot, and the flowers begin to bloom. There is nowhere better to see beautiful flowers than the UK – I “blame” it on the humid, often rainy weather. And that makes Spring all the more special here. Can’t wait to see more beautiful blooms – and yes, for now I’m ignoring the Hay Fever I will likely be suffering from soon enough thanks to all of them…

Esta é a minha estação preferida – os dias são mais compridos, a temperatura está um pouco mais quente, mais (ainda) não demasiado quente, e as flores começam a nascer. Não há melhor sítio para ver flores bonitas como o Reino Unido – eu “culpo” o tempo húmido e muitas vezes chuvoso. E isso torna a Primavera ainda mais especial por aqui. Mal posso esperar por ver mais flores bonitas – e sim, por enquanto estou a ignorar a Febre dos Fenos da qual provavelmente vou estar a sofrer em breve graças a todas estas flores…
