Women’s March
I couldn’t start with anything else. I’m so proud of having been part of such an incredible global movement. I tagged along with my friend T’s group, and they’re such a cool bunch of people with great interests and principles that it made me even happier to have walked with them! Many people were there to protest the new US president, others to defend women’s rights, but everyone came together so peacefully and in hopeful spirits!
Não podia começar com outra coisa. Tenho imenso orgulho em ter feito parte de um movimento global tão incrível. Juntei-me ao grupo da minha amiga T e eles são um grupo de pessoas tão interessadas e com bons princípios que fiquei ainda mais feliz por participar na manif com eles! Muitas pessoas estavam lá para protestar contra o novo presidente dos EUA, outros para defender os direitos das mulheres, mas toda a gente se juntou de forma tão pacífica e cheia de esperança!
In my personal case, I marched because I can’t accept the normalisation of sexual harassment, because I believe in humanity, in “respect thy neighbour” and in true equality. But mostly I marched because I do not believe the purpose of learning History is to know how to do it again, but to avoid the same awful, tragic mistakes of the past. I believe in taking (peaceful) action and making the world better. And that’s what I’ll continue doing moving forward.
Pessoalmente, eu juntei-me à manif porque não posso aceitar que o assédio sexual se torne uma coisa normal, porque acredito na humanidade, em “respeita o próximo como a ti mesmo” e na verdadeira igualdade. Mas especialmente porque não acredito que o objectivo de estudar História seja saber como voltar a fazer as mesmas coisas, mas antes aprender como evitar fazer os mesmos erros horríveis e trágicos do passado. Acredito em agir (de forma pacífica) para melhorar o mundo. E é isso que vou continuar a fazer.
Mini-stepper
In an effort to become more active, I bought myself a mini-stepper so I can exercise at home while watching a TV series or a movie. I’m not big on going to the gym, so having this in the house has really motivated me to start exercising more, to improve my overall health.
Numa tentativa de me tornar mais activa, comprei um mini-step para poder fazer exercício em casa enquanto vejo uma série ou um filme na TV. Não sou grande fã de ginásios, então ter isto em casa tem-me motivado imenso para fazer mais exercício, e melhorar a minha saúde geral.

La La Land
I’ve already written a lengthy post on what I thought of this brilliant film, but I couldn’t have a favourites post without mentioning it. It moved me more than I could have imagined any movie doing. And it also motivated and inspired me. I’ve not stopped listening to the soundtrack since, either. So if you haven’t watched yet, definitely add it to your list!

Le Sourire des femmes
This month I went back to reading in French, because it’s something I really enjoy and it’s a great way to practice another language. I’ve been finding the French books I’ve picked up so engaging and this was no different. It’s a very cute romance novel that’s really easy to read. I finished it very quickly and can’t wait to get through the other French books I have lined up!
Este mês voltei a ler em francês, porque é algo que gosto imenso de fazer e porque ajuda a praticar outra língua. Tenho achado os livros em francês que tenho lido super captivantes e este não foi excepção. É um romance giro e fácil de ler. Acabei muito rápido e não posso esperar por ler os outros livros franceses que tenho na lista!
Riverdale
Netflix premiered a new show last Friday called Riverdale. I started watching the trailer on Twitter and the moment I saw Luke Perry (Dylan, the original bad boy from Beverly Hills 90210, and probably my first TV crush back when I was a pre-teen) I went straight to the TV to watch the first episode. It’s based on the Archie Comics, but it’s darker and very mysterious. The cast is great and the first episode is really gripping. Can’t wait to see more!
O Netflix estreou uma nova série na passada sexta-feira chamada Riverdale. Comecei a ver o trailer e no momento em que vi o Luke Perry (Dylan, o bad boy original de Beverly Hills 90210 e provavelmente a minha primeira crush televisiva quando era pré-adolescente) dirigi-me logo à televisão para ver o primeiro episódio. A série é baseada na BD Archie Comics, mas é mais sombria e muito misteriosa. O elenco é excelente e o primeiro episódio é bem emocionante. Mal posso esperar para ver mais!

I’ve been wanting one of these beauties for years and finally got one for Christmas – something I’m super grateful for! I love it, it’s small but fits a lot of things inside and it’s absolutely gorgeous!
Tenho andado a namorar estas maravilhas há anos e finalmente recebi uma pelo Natal – coisa pela qual estou verdadeiramente grata! Adoro-a, é pequena mas cabe lá muita coisa e é simplesmente linda!

Bamboo Slate
This was another present I got for Christmas and I absolutely love it. Basically you attach a notepad to the Slate, take notes with the accompanying pen, and then transfer it via Bluetooth and an app to your mobile or tablet. It’s great when you’re jotting down ideas or brainstorming. For me, it’s been a great help to organise ideas for the blog and keep track of what I’ve done and still want to do.
Esta foi outra prenda que recebi pelo Natal e adorei. Basicamente pomos um bloco no Slate, tomamos notas com a caneta especial e depois transferimos via Bluetooth para uma app no telemóvel ou no tablet. É excelente para quando estamos a tomar nota de ideias ou a fazer um brainstorm. Para mim, tem sido uma óptima ajuda para organizar ideias para o blog e acompanhar o que já fiz e o que ainda quero fazer.
The Paper Bunny 2017 Planner
I mean. It’s a planner (hugely necessary) and it’s marble. Plus it has such nice and motivating quotes inside! Love this!
Quer dizer. É uma agenda (super necessária) e tem um padrão de mármore. E depois tem citações giras e motivadoras lá dentro. Adoro!
