Stockholm Haulin’

Stockholm is a pretty stylish city, and it is home to some rather cool brands be it in fashion, fragrance or design. So, though I didn’t do a great deal of shopping, I still bought some souvenirs I am really excited about!

Estocolmo é uma cidade cheia de estilo e de lá vêm marcas de destaque quer na moda, na perfumaria ou no design. Apesar de não ter feito muitas compras, ainda trouxe de volta algumas coisas que estou a adorar!

Dalecarlian horse

I have been lusting over these beautiful typical Swedish wooden horses after seeing one on a blog post a few years ago. They might have become a bit touristy now, but I find them so delicate, simple and pretty! I knew I had to finally get one for my flat on this trip – and so I did.

Tenho andado a namorar estes cavalos de madeira típicos da Suécia desde que vi um num blog há uns anos. Embora já se tenham tornado muito turísticos, continuo a achá-los tão delicados, simples e bonitos! Sabia que tinha de comprar um cá para casa nesta viagem – e foi o que fiz. 

Visiting Nordiska Kompaniet (NK) after seeing it mentioned online several times, I stepped to the Lower Ground floor to find the most stylish souvenir section I have ever seen. Kitchen towels, napkins, mugs and trays in very simple, beautiful Sweden or Stockholm patterns and, of course, the horses in different sizes, colours and patterns. I bought the more traditional red one with a blue harness. It’s beautiful, I love having it in the flat to remind me of a great trip!

Ao visitar o Nordiska Kompaniet (NK) depois de ler bastante online sobre este grande armazém, desci até à cave e lá encontrei a secção de souvenirs mais chique que alguma vez vi. Panos de cozinha, guardanapos, canecas e tabuleiros com padrões Suecos ou de Estocolmo muito simples e bonitos e, claro, os cavalos em vários tamanhos, cores e padrões. Comprei o mais tradicional, vermelho com os arreios azuis. É lindo e adoro tê-lo em casa para me lembrar de uma óptima viagem!

Books

A habit I have learned from my Dad is that of buying books in cities I visit. I particularly love buying books set in the city, or of well known authors from the country.

Um hábito que ganhei do meu Pai foi o de comprar livros nas cidades que visito. Gosto especialmente de comprar livros passados na cidade, ou de autores bem conhecidos desse país.

I wanted to get Selma Lagerlöf’s ‘The Wonderful Adventures of Nils’. It’s a classic children’s book by a Nobel winning author, plus, in his book, my Dad mentions reading Nils Holgersson’s adventures, the boy who flew across Sweden on the back of a goose, which made me want to read it all the more! 

Sabia que queria comprar ‘A Maravilhosa Viagem de Nils Holgersson através da Suécia’ de Selma Lagerlöf. É um livro infantil clássico, de uma autora vencedora de um prémio Nobel. O meu Pai, no seu livro, fala das aventuras de Nils Holgerssons, o rapaz que voou pela Suécia nas costas de um ganso, o que me fez ter ainda mais vontade de ler!

In addition to that, I also bought two books by Fredrick Backman: ‘A Man Called Ove’ and ‘My Grandmother Sends Her Regards & Apologises’. These are two bestsellers that were recommended to me by the lovely guy who helped me at the Akademibokhandeln bookshop as nice, heartwarming reads. I’ve started reading ‘My Grandmother…’ and so far I am loving it!

Também comprei dois livros de Fredrick Backman: ‘A Man Called Ove’ e ‘My Grandmother Sends Her Regards & Apologises’. São dois bestsellers que me foram recomendados pelo senhor super simpático que me ajudou na livraria, Akademibokhandeln, como sendo agradáveis de ler.

Beauty

I’d heard a bit about Face Stockholm, and tried a couple of their products last year in Berlin when I stayed at a Scandic hotel. So I had my heart set on trying a couple of products from their range. Having forgotten body lotion, I decided to get their Cloudberry one. It is really light but quite moisturising and smells lovely.

Tinha ouvido falar bem da marca Face Stockholm e até tinha experimentado uns produtos da marca no ano passado em Berlim, quando fiquei num dos hotéis Scandic. Por isso ia com a ideia de comprar um ou dois produtos. Como me tinha esquecido de levar creme de corpo, aproveitei e comprei a loção corporal de Cloudberry. É muito ligeira mas hidrata e cheira muito bem.

Of course it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t also buy a little lipstick! I went for a brick red colour in their satin range, which lasts for a very long time on the lips but isn’t overly drying. So nice!

Claro que não seria eu se não comprasse também um batom! Escolhi um vermelho tijolo na linha acetinada, que dura bastante nos lábios mas não seca demasiado. Muito bom!

Style

Anna’s Stockholm post had left me dreaming of Acne Studios. For one thing, their clothes are beyond cool, and then the brand colour, that dusty pink, is the stuff of dreams! I browsed online a bit and actually noticed that their jeans were slightly cheaper in Sweden, so I went in store to try them out. Of course they fit like a glove. I chose the Pin model – slim legs with a high waist – in faded black and I have been loving wearing them!

O post de Estocolmo da Anna tinha-me deixado a sonhar com a marca Acne Studios. Logo para começar, as roupas deles têm imensa pinta. E depois, a cor da marca, aquele cor-de-rosa pálido, é de sonho! Fiz uma pequena pesquisa online e vi que as calças de ganga da Acne eram ligeiramente mais baratas na Suécia, então decidi passar numa loja para as experimentar. Claro que me serviram como uma luva. Escolhi o modelo Pin – pernas justas com cintura subida – em preto desbotado (quase um cinzento escuro) e tenho adorado usá-las!

At Acne I also bought a new card holder – a stylish home for my Oyster card and blog calling cards (when I actually get round to making them…). I had decided on the yellow card holder with the pink interior, but then I saw the blue with yellow interiors and decided for that one instead. It’s so simple and pretty!

Na Acne também comprei um porta-cartões novo – uma casa mais fina para o meu Oyster (cartão de transportes de Londres) e para os cartões de visita do blog (quando eu finalmente os fizer…). Estava decidida pelo porta-cartões amarelo com cor-de-rosa por dentro, mas depois vi a versão azul e amarela e decidi trazer esse. É tão simples e bonito!
