A very special Afternoon Tea

Last Sunday afternoon I headed to Liberty London for a very special event with two of my favourite bloggers, Anna and Lily. The girls were hosting an Afternoon Tea in the Heritage Room of the famous London store, in aid of Look Good Feel Better UK.

No domingo passado dirigi-me à Liberty para um evento muito especial com duas das minhas bloggers preferidas, Anna e Lily. Elas organizaram um chá no Heritage Room da famosa loja londrina, a reverter para a Look Good Feel Better UK.

This is a great charity that helps women and teenage girls struggling with the visible side effects of cancer treatment, by doing things like helping them care for their skin and teaching how to apply makeup. In doing so, LGFB helps them increase self confidence and feel a little better. It is a small, but so important step in helping people dealing with the disease. The work LGFB does is really admirable!

Esta é uma óptima organização de solidariedade que ajuda mulheres e meninas adolescentes que estão a lidar com o lado visível dos tratamentos contra o cancro, fazendo coisas como ajudar a cuidar da pele e ensinar a aplicar maquilhagem. Fazendo isso, ajudam-nas a  aumentar a auto-confiança e a sentir-se um pouco melhor. É um passo pequeno, mas muito importante para ajudar as pessoas que estão a passar pela doença. O trabalho que a LGFB faz é admirável!

A little after 4pm we were greeted at the door to the Heritage Room by Anna and Lily, smiley and lovely as ever, and made our way to the tables.

Pouco depois das 16h fomos recebidas à porta do Heritage Room pela Anna e pela Lily, sorridentes e queridas como sempre, e dirigimo-nos para as mesas.

They were beautifully laid out, with beautiful tea pots, milk jugs and plates, and delicious sandwiches, scones and cakes.

Estavam muito bem postas com bules, jarros de leite e pratos lindos e sanduíches, scones e bolos deliciosos!

And, cherry on top of the cake, we found a little treat on our chair: a gift bag full of mini beauty products and a Liberty makeup bag! 

E, como uma cereja no topo do bolo, encontrámos um pequeno mimo nas cadeiras: um saco cheio de produtos de beleza em miniatura e uma bolsa de maquilhagem da Liberty!

The girls welcomed us all and did a little Q&A with questions we’d written down. I felt priviledged to get their input on how to make people want to come back to your blog: honesty (be yourself) and consistency.

As meninas deram-nos as boas-vindas e fizeram uma sessão de perguntas e respostas com perguntas que tínhamos escrito ao entrar. Eu senti-me priveligiada de receber a opinião delas sobre como fazer com que as pessoas queiram voltar ao nosso blog: honestidade (sejam vocês mesmas) e consistência.

And then it was time to drink tea and/or prosecco, and have a little chat! I was sat next to three very lovely girls and we had a good ol’ chat about beauty and blogs and all the things that brought us together at that event. Anna & Lily even popped by and joined our chat for a bit while they were going around the table talking to everyone.

E depois foi hora de beber chá e/ou prosecco e dar dois dedos de conversa! Eu fiquei sentada ao pé de três meninas muito simpáticas e fartámo-nos de falar sobre beleza, blogs e todas as coisas que nos trouxeram a este evento. A Anna e a Lily até se juntaram a nós por um bocado enquanto davam a volta à mesa a falar com toda a gente.

At the end, a little time for photos as a souvenir of a fantastic afternoon for a very worthy cause. Thank you so much Anna and Lily for being so nice and lovely to talk to! And thank you to Liberty and Look Good Feel Better UK for organising such a great event.
