The past month was a very exciting one for me, and aside from fantastic memories made, I also found some new things that I’ve really enjoyed – here are the best bits from March in review.

Travel // Viagens
New York
This month I was able to do something I’ve been dreaming about for years: visiting New York City.
It was incredible to be able to experience this phenomenal, exciting, buzzing city by myself, finally seeing places IRL I’d known so well from film and TV.
My top moment would be visiting Top Of The Rock and seeing the view at sunset – absolutely amazing!
Este mês pude realizar um dos meus sonhos mais antigos: visitar Nova Iorque.
Foi incrível poder experienciar sozinha aquela cidade fenomenal, animada e cheia de vida, e ver finalmente ao vivo sítios que conhecia tão bem de filmes e séries de TV.
O melhor momento para mim foi a visita ao Top of The Rock e a vista sobre Manhattan ao por do sol – espectacular!
Brighton
After my trip to NYC and a few hectic weeks at work, I wanted to have a chilled Easter long weekend, so I booked a couple of nights in a hotel in Brighton and headed down.
And I’m so glad I did! Brighton is a lovely town, full of cool corners and quaint streets that are just asking to be explored by the curious tourist!
Depois da viagem a Nova Iorque e de umas semanas agitadas no trabalho, queria passar um fim-de-semana de Páscoa relaxado – então marquei duas noites num hotel em Brighton e lá fui eu. E ainda bem! Brighton é uma cidade bonita, cheia de recantos giros e ruas engraçadas que estão mesmo a pedir para serem exploradas por um(a) turista curioso(a)!

Estée Lauder CC Cream
I’d seen Anna from VDM rave about this product and so decided to give it a go when I needed a new moisturiser with a little tint but not too much coverage – since I’ve been lucky to have mostly good skin days recently.
This cream gives the skin some great moisture while not being too oily, evens out my skin tone and gives my face a really pretty glow – exactly what I was looking for!
Já tinha visto a Anna do blog VDM dizer maravilhas sobre este produto e decidi finalmente experimentar quando precisei de um creme novo com um pouco de cor mas sem muita cobertura, já que, por sorte, a minha pele se tem portado bem ultimamente (na maioria do tempo).
Este creme dá uma óptima hidratação à pele sem ser muito oleoso, uniformiza o meu tom de pele e dá-lhe um brilho muito bonito – exactamente o que eu queria!
CoverGirl x Olay The DePuffer
This concealer is incredible. It’s got great coverage and is super moisturising, which the skin around my eyes is very thankful for.
Shame this can’t be found in the UK…
Este corrector de olheiras é incrível. Tem uma óptima cobertura e é super hidratante, coisa que a pele na zona dos meus olhos agradece.
Pena que não se venda no Reino Unido…

I was never crazy about highlighter, until I tried this one out…this is a warmer highlight than you will usually find out there, and it blends beautifully with my olive toned skin.
Nunca liguei grande coisa a highlighters, até experimentar este…Tem um tom mais quente do que a maioria dos highlighters que se encontram por aí, e adapta-se lindamente ao meu tom de pele.

Le Livre des Baltimore by Joel Dicker
I finished this book (review here) shortly after coming back to London and actually needed some time to adjust to not having it in my life. It’s such a gripping, touching, modern story – and it’s expertly written by one of my favourite authors of today.
Acabei este livro pouco depois de voltar a Londres e precisei de algum tempo para me habituar a não o ter na minha vida. É uma história tão viciante, emocionante e moderna – e é escrita com enorme habilidade por um dos meus autores preferidos da actualidade.
Straight Outta Compton
I watched Straight Outta Compton on the plane coming back from NYC and was seriously impressed by it.
I was familiar with NWA’s music, the members of the band and their influence, but I knew very little about the social background that inspired them, or the drama that surrounded them.
Really great watch! You will get hooked on their music too…
Vi Straight Outta Compton no avião quando voltei de NYC e fiquei seriamente impressionada.
Conhecia a música dos NWA, os membros da banda e a sua influência, mas sabia muito pouco sobre o contexto social que os inspirou, ou o drama que os envolveu.
Um excelente filme! Preparem-se para ficar viciados na música deles…

Fortune & Frame Mini Fortune Cookie necklace
Just before going to New York I saw Fortune & Frame’s Fortune Cookie necklace on Adriana from Leopard Martini’s Instagram and loved it.
While exploring the brand’s site I saw the Mini Fortune Cookie necklace which captured my heart. So I emailed them to see where in New York I could get it. Long story short, I got in touch with Gretel, the creator of these beautiful pieces and a very cool and lovely girl, and ended up meeting up with her in person to purchase the necklace – totally worth it, it’s so pretty and versatile!

Ao explorar o site da marca vi o colar Mini Fortune Cookie que me conquistou logo. Então mandei um email para saber onde o poderia comprar em Nova Iorque. Em resumo, entrei em contacto com a Gretel, a criadora destas peças lindas e uma rapariga super simpática, e acabei por me encontrar com ela para comprar o colar – o que valeu imenso a pena, porque é lindo e muito versátil!
Kate Spade Holland Rose Gold watch
For years now I have been eyeing up Kate Spade’s watches – they’re classic, elegant and with beautiful designs – so I said to myself I’d get one in New York, as a souvenir from my trip.
And that’s just what I did – after looking around their Madison Avenue flagship store and trying on a few different models, I settled for the Holland Rose Gold one, which is everything I wanted. It’s a great complement to any outfit, casual or more formal, and I haven’t been able to take it off since I bought it!
Há já alguns anos que ando a namorar os relógios da marca Kate Spade – são clássicos, elegantes e com designs lindos – então decidi comprar um como souvenir da viagem a Nova Iorque.
Depois de explorar a loja principal na Madison Avenue e de experimentar vários modelos, escolhi o Holland Rose Gold, que é tudo o que eu queria. Fica bem com qualquer roupa, formal ou informal, e não o tiro desde que o comprei!
