The New York Diaries #7

My seventh and last day in New York was spent exploring the Upper West Side – I had an idea of it being a really interesting part of town from the movie You’ve Got Mail which is mostly set there, and had been really excited to see it!

First stop: breakfast at Sarabeth’s. The most delicious pancakes I have ever tasted, and such a nice, cosy restaurant. If you’re in the area, do check it out! Then it was off to Zabar’s, one of the most famous grocery stores in NYC – it is an institution as it’s been there for decades, and it’s mentioned in a few films and TV shows I love, so a visit was definitely in order! There’s every cheese, bread, coffee under the sun and the upstairs floor has the most incredible kitchen supplies – if only my suitcase wasn’t heavy enough at that point!
I then took the long way down to the Museum of Natural History to go past Riverside Park, which has such incredible views – living around there must be a dream…
After visiting the Museum I walked down towards The Dakota, the apartment building where John Lennon lived and was killed, and Strawberry Fields, a tribute garden to Lennon in Central Park.
Further down I found the Empire Hotel (where I wished I could pay a visit to Chuck Bass) and Lincoln Center, which were the last two stops on my trip – I then walked back to my hotel and headed to the airport shortly afterwards.
This trip to New York was an absolute dream come true, and I hope you have enjoyed seeing the pictures as much as I loved taking them and sharing them here.

O meu sétimo e último dia em Nova Iorque foi passado a explorar o Upper West side – tinha ficado com uma óptima impressão desta zona quando vi o filme You’ve Got Mail, que se passa maioritariamente lá, e estava super entusiasmada por lá ir.
Primeira paragem: pequeno-almoço no Sarabeth’s. As melhores panquecas que alguma vez comi e um restaurante simpático e acolhedor. Se estiverem nesta zona, experimentem! Depois fui até à Zabar’s, uma das mercearias mais famosas de NYC – faz parte da história daquela zona uma vez que já ali está há décadas, e foi referida em vários filmes e séries de que gosto, portanto tinha mesmo de visitar! Têm todos os tipos de queijo, pão e café possíveis e o andar de cima tem acessórios de cozinha excelentes – se ao menos a minha mala já não estivesse pesada!
Saída da Zabar’s fiz o caminho longo até ao Museu de História Natural para passar pelo Riverside Park que tem vistas lindíssimas – viver por ali deve ser um sonho…
Depois de visitar o Museu desci até ao Dakota, o prédio onde John Lennon vivia e foi assassinado, e Strawberry Fields, um jardim de homenagem a Lennon no Central Park.
Mais abaixo encontrei o Empire Hotel (onde pensei que era bom poder visitar o Chuck Bass) e o Lincoln Center, que foram as duas últimas paragens da minha viagem – depois disso fui até ao hotel a pé e pouco depois dirigi-me para o aeroporto.
Esta viagem a Nova Iorque foi um sonho tornado realidade – espero que tenham gostado de ver as minhas fotografias tanto quanto eu gostei de as tirar e de as partilhar aqui.
