Today I’d like to share with you one of my favourite perfume brands out there – Annick Goutal. The brand is based in Paris and its whole imagery is very pretty, delicate & oh so Parisian – part of why I love it!
Hoje quero partilhar convosco aquela que é uma das minhas marcas de perfumes preferida – Annick Goutal. A marca vem de Paris e toda a sua imagem é muito bonita, delicada e tão parisiense – algumas das razões que me levam a adorar estes perfumes!
I first discovered this brand while I was an MSc student in Leeds, and was wandering around Harvey Nichols in the city centre – I was hooked on Petite Chérie from the first sniff, and detoured into Harvey Nichs to have a spritz whenever I walked past.
Descobri esta marca quando estava a fazer o Mestrado em Leeds e estava a passear no Harvey Nichols no centro da cidade – fiquei viciada no Petite Chérie desde a primeira vez que o cheirei, e fazia desvios até ao Harvey Nichs para o testar sempre que por lá passava.
A few years later, on a visit to Paris, I came across one of the beautiful stores the brand has across the city, and fell in love (again!): the stores have a very simple but incredibly elegant aesthetic that I absolutely adored.
Alguns anos depois, numa visita a Paris, passei por uma das lindíssimas lojas que a marca tem pela cidade e voltei-me a apaixonar: as lojas têm uma disposição muito simples mas super elegante que eu adorei!
I was lucky enough to receive a bottle of Petite Chérie, which remains my favourite scent, from my parents for my 29th birthday, which we celebrated in the city of light and was absolutely amazing!!
Through the memories of that trip, it makes me feel almost like a true Parisienne whenever I wear it – how could I not love this?!
With notes of Pear, Peach, Muscat Rose, Vanilla and Freshly-cut Grass, this is a sweet (but not sickly) scent, perfect for summer but also an excellent way of brightening up a winter’s day!
I also love the story behind this line: it was developed by Annick Goutal in 1998 as a gift for her daughter, Camille. As the brand’s website explains, she wanted to create a fragrance that was irresistible, innocent and seductive, “like a young girl’s cheek that you want to kiss” – and Camille still considers this the most touching of gifts. What a lovely story behind a beautiful scent!
Tive a sorte de receber um frasco do Petite Chérie, que continua a ser o meu perfume preferido, como presente de anos dos meus pais quando fiz 29 anos, um aniversário que passámos juntos na cidade luz e foi fantástico!!
Com as memórias dessa viagem, este perfume faz-me sentir quase uma verdadeira parisiense quando o uso – como é que eu podia não gostar dele?!
Com notas de Pera, Pêssego, Rosa Muscat, Baunilha e Relva recém-cortada, é um aroma doce (mas não enjoativo), perfeito para o verão mas também uma óptima forma de alegrar um dia de inverno!
Também adoro a história desta linha: foi desenvolvida por Annick Goutal em 1998 como um presente para a sua filha, Camille. Como explica o site da marca, Annick queria criar um perfume que fosse irresistível, inocente e sedutor, “como a bochecha de uma rapariga que queremos beijar” – e Camille ainda considera este o presente mais comovente de todos. Que linda história por trás de um óptimo perfume!
Last year I discovered another fantastic scent from the brand, Eau de Charlotte. With notes of blackcurrant bud, mimosa, cocoa and vanilla, this feels more mature to me than Petite Cherie but is still sweet.
Annick Goutal developed this fragrance in 1982 as a gift to her step-daughter Charlotte, something that would reflect her personality and tastes. The website describes Eau de Charlotte as a scent that “arouses the desire to enjoy it such a red fruit and awakens in us distant childhood memories. It reveals a spirited and twinkling, generous and romantic woman, to whom it is difficult to resist.” That’ll do for me!
No ano passado descobri outro fantástico perfume desta marca, Eau de Charlotte. Com notas de groselha, mimosa, cacao e baunilha, este perfume parece-me mais maturo que Petite Chérie, mas é também doce.
Annick Goutal desenvolveu esta fragrância em 1982 como presente para a sua enteada Charlotte, algo que reflectisse a sua personalidade e os seus gostos. O site descreve Eau de Charlotte como um perfume que “desperta o desejo de o desfrutar como de um fruto vermelho e desperta em nós memórias distantes da infância. Revela uma mulher espirituosa e cintilante, generosa e romântica, à qual é difícil resistir.” Para mim, serve!
What I love the most about these two scents is that they are delicate even though they are sweet, and that they are fresh enough to wear in summer but warm enough to wear through winter as well.
They are incredible elegant, not overpowering, and give us just enough confidence when we wear them to go out and be the empowered, yet graceful #girlboss we’re meant to be!
O que eu gosto mais nestes dois perfumes é que são delicados apesar de serem doces, e são suficientemente frescos para usar no verão, mas também calorosos o suficiente para usar durante o inverno.
São super elegantes, não excessivos, e dão-nos confiança suficiente quando o usamos para irmos à luta e sermos as #girlboss fortes, mas elegantes, que fomos feitas para ser!
Annick Goutal is a premium fragrance brand and, as such, it isn’t cheap: Eau de Charlotte EDT comes in one size only (100ml) and retails for 104eur; while Petite Chérie has both EDT and EDP and ranges from 79eur (50ml EDT) to 127eur (100ml EDP), not including the special or limited edition bottles. However, they do last for a very long time, and can be layered with body creams to last longer on the skin as well. An investment, definitely, but one that I am happy to make every now and again as a treat, while I can.
Annick Goutal é uma marca de perfumes premium e, como tal, não é barata: Eau de Charlotte EDT é vendido apenas num tamanho (100ml) por 104eur; enquanto Petite Chérie tem EDT e EDP, com preços a variar entre os 79eur (50ml EDT) e os 127eur (100ml EDP), isto não incluindo as embalagens especiais ou de edição limitada. No entanto, duram bastante tempo, e podem ser usados em conjunto com cremes de corpo para durarem mais tempo na pele. É um investimento, sim, mas um que não me importo de fazer de vez em quando como um presente, enquanto posso.
