Now that we’re a few days into the new year, and before I share with you what I want to do in 2016, I thought I’d share a few highlights of the past year with you.
Agora que já entrámos a sério no novo ano, e antes de partilhar convosco o que quero fazer em 2016, achei que seria boa ideia partilhar os meus momentos preferidos do ano que passou.
I’ve mentioned in previous posts that 2015 was a roller coaster year for me, but I am incredibly grateful for all the experiences it brought me. So here we go:
Já vos tinha dito noutros posts que 2015 foi um ano de altos e baixos para mim, mas estou muito grata por todas as experiências que me trouxe. Então cá vamos:
Portugal
After living in the UK since 2008, spending the first 9 months of the year back home was a welcome change.
It was great to see Lisbon buzzing with the life that a new wave of tourists is bringing it, and the new stores, cafes, events that exist as a result are wonderful.
Passar os primeiros 9 meses do ano em casa, depois de viver no Reino Unido desde 2008, foi uma boa mudança!
Adorei ver Lisboa vibrante com a nova vida que traz a onda de turismo e, com ela, novas lojas, novos cafés e eventos que são fantásticos!
Family
I hadn’t been able to spend as much time with my family as I have in 2015 in a long time, and that was just what the doctor ordered. Crazy as it may be, my family is incredible and has been a huge support for me in hard times. I love them to bits.
Família
Há muito tempo que não tinha oportunidade de passar tanto tempo com a minha família, como tive este ano – e isso era mesmo o que eu estava a precisar! A minha família pode ser (é) doida, mas é incrível e tem sido um enorme apoio para mim nos tempos mais difíceis. Adoro-os!
Friends
Going back to Lisbon allowed me to reconnect with some old friends, and to make some new ones while working there as well!
Amigos
Voltar a Lisboa deu-me oportunidade de fortalecer antigas amizades, bem como criar novas enquanto lá estive a trabalhar!
Summer
Taking a proper, month long, summer holiday this year was absolutely amazing. I soaked up the sun, enjoyed long walks along the beach with fun playlists for a soundtrack, explored historical and beautiful parts of Portugal and, as a big bonus, got to spend a great time with my little cousins who I don’t see as often as I like as they live in Mexico!
Verão
Tirar umas boas férias, de um mês inteiro, no verão foi maravilhoso. Aproveitei o sol, fiz grandes passeios junto da praia a ouvir boa música, explorei partes históricas de Portugal que são lindíssimas e, como grande bónus, passei óptimos momentos com os meus priminhos mexicanos, que não vejo tantas vezes como gostaria, já que eles estão do outro lado do mundo!
Disneyland
For Easter 2015 I decided to take a trip to Paris to finally visit Disneyland – I had dreamed about this since it first opened to the public and getting to do it at long last was a highlight not just of the year, but of my life! Loved every second of it, felt like a big kid that had been transported into a magical universe and not even the constant rain and chilly weather stopped me from having a huge smile while riding the kiddy rides and walking along the Sleeping Beauty castle!
Para a Páscoa de 2015 decidi fazer uma viagem a Paris para visitar, finalmente, a Disneyland – sonhava com isto desde que abriu ao público e ter podido fazer está viagem foi não só um dos melhores momentos do meu ano, mas também da minha vida! Adorei cada segundo, senti-me como uma criança grande (vá, grande será um exagero) transportada para universo mágico, e nem a chuva constante ou o frio de rachar me impediram de ter um sorriso de orelha a orelha enquanto andava nos carrosséis mais levezinhos ou visitava o castelo da Bela Adormecida!
London
Having the opportunity to return to London, a city that I had missed more than I ever thought I would, was incredible. I’m so thankful that I got the chance to return to London, and to be welcomed back to my job & team! The last three months of the year were extremely positive. And I’ve loved getting to spend more time with my London/Reading cousins as well – let’s go for more walks in the country side!
Ter tido a oportunidade de voltar para Londres, da qual tive muito mais saudades do que pensei ter, foi incrível. Estou muitíssimo grata por ter tido a oportunidade de me voltar a juntar à minha antiga empresa e de ter sido tão bem recebida pela fantástica equipa! Os últimos três meses foram super positivos. E para mais tenho adorado passar mais tempo com a minha família de Londres/Reading – vamos fazer mais passeios no campo?
Berlin
I’d been to Berlin before and loved it. This year, for a company event, I got to go again, and with all my new (and old) work friends, which made it all the more enjoyable.
I finally got to realise my dream of visiting a Christmas Market in Germany, which was as magical as I hoped, and had tons of fun walking around, exploring and partying with great work friends!
Já tinha visitado Berlim e tinha adorado. Este ano, para um evento da empresa, pude voltar a visitar a capital alemã e tudo com os meus novos (e antigos) amigos do trabalho, o que tornou a experiência ainda mais agradável.
Consegui riscar “visitar um Mercado de Natal na Alemanha” da minha lista (foi tão mágico como eu tinha esperado!) e ainda me diverti imenso a passear, explorar e festejar com óptimos amigos!
